I feel for these men and women... trapped into doing things and feeling it life or death to do it or not to do it. Thank you for sharing this sad,
sad story.
Also I can't imagine this kind of thing is something they want to announce to the public in fear their they would have even more trouble recruiting
than they do now.

Maybe it's something they don't want to announce to the public because it didn't happen? This sad, sad story is just that...a story. BTW the U.S
Army surpassed its recruiting goals for 2007, so I'm interested to know where you get the idea that they have trouble recruiting?

I am saying its not true because the facts they gave are false: There is no 57th Airborne Division. IF...IF...a huge part of a unit committed suicide
and IRAN of all people got the breaking story....you would think they would at least get the facts straight, IE. the correct unit and even where
that unit comes from. They just pulled something from their arse and created a story. There is no evidence ANYWHERE that this happened. Even Iran
cant produce proper evidence. No names of the witnesses. No name of the base. No name of the hospital. NADA. An obvious fabricated story.
And a mass suicide such as this would make big news. It would be impossible to hide such a huge thing. These soldiers would have family members at
home. Family members at home rally together when their unit is deployed. If ONE member of the unit dies (no matter how it happens), every single
family member at home knows about it and word spreads FAST.
Eh. Just my .02
With all of that said. Suicide by anyone is horribly sad And even if this story were true, I dont think any of us "naysayers" would feel
anything but sorrow

I never said I was certain I felt this is the truth and not propaganda. What I said was I could see it to be possible... please see my original post.
Here is an artical dated in April of this year backing my claim about
recruiting. It comes from USAToday.

This has been totally debunked.
Fact: the millitary unit does not exist
Fact: The Iranian publisher does exist
Many would so like the story to be true, just to further their little cause of bashing America in Iraq but it can't be found here.

Also I was replying to Chickenshoes post not the OP I'm sorry that you are confused. See below:

I can see why this may be propaganda because of the source. But I was thinking about how soldiers are given orders and go though with these orders
because they cannot commit "mutiny" but what if these orders are so horrific that they can't live with what they have done.
post by chickenshoes:
You know, this came to my mind too. A good friend of mine has a nephew who is a bomb specialist in Iraq. He is on some super secret mission and
couldn't tell any details, except he did say this, that when his company got their orders a few weeks ago, two deserted and one committed suicide. I
began to wonder why, and thought that the orders might be so absolutely horrific that they couldn't handle it.

Since know one wants to hear the truth I will post my earlier post again this tome maybe you will read it and stop worring about iranian
propaganda
It is a false story the 57th airborne never technically existed. In 1950, the 57th Reconnaissance Company was redesignated as the 101st
Airborne Reconnaissance Company, activated and assigned to the 101st Airborne Division And trust me I was stationed with the 101st You cant mistake a
screaming eagle for anything other the the 101st.
These means that the writer of the bull doesnt even know command structure wrote about a unit that hasnt existed in over 50 years

Well, I certainly hope this is propaganda. Good god! But, on the other hand, with the civilian death toll in that country, it wouldn't surprise me if
it was in fact true.
To the people who are quick to pass this off as propaganda, I want to remind you that the negativity is not towards the USA or it's people, the
negativity is towards the corrupt government and the puppet masters who control it.
America has turned into a remote controlled war machine.... and it's up to the people to stop it!

On Topic - I sure hope the news you found is not correct...
I've checked a number of Euro news sources and not found anything yet - but - I'll keep looking just in case.

I find it intriguing. I'm looking at real-world fresh propaganda. Its this kind of thing I learned and read of in history class, and here it is in
the flesh.
Incredible really. This article would be a great learning tool in any current events discussion.

people to know that its that easy for Iraqi insurgents to infiltrate American military bases to poison troops. Or maybe it was the Government
themselves trying to silence troops as to not talk about the orders they received prior to them massacring innocent women and children.

Well this isn't in mainstream media because they would not want us to know this, and give people even more things to protest about in this world..I
hope that the soldier's families get peace someday because this war has already cost way too many lives as it is..I hope we find peace in that region
someday soon.

It's sh*t like this that really worries me, sometimes more than Islamic extremists! Patriotist / Nationalism can be an extremely ugly thing, one of
America's biggest flaws. Blinkered nationalist nonsense the likes from this poster is seriously dangerous.
Regarldess if this is enemy propaganda or not, isn't the whole point of this website to see the sides that the media hides from us? We're all
adults, we can make our own minds up. Stop hating on the Original Poster for just passing on the thread!
