Fannie freddie bailout a contradictition

Am I too understand that the Freddie and Fannie goverment takeover is required so that we can maintain our current capitalist's system? But yet every American who has financial problems is bound by the rules of capitalism?

Makes no sense to me.

Just like fighting wars in order to bring peace?

The PTB are truly ass backward in the handling of all of this. It needs to be socialism for the poor and capitalism for the rich.
