IMO it is best to eat whole natural foods when possible. I too cannot tolerate many "fast foods" or frozen dinners anymore. I feel SO much better eating smaller amount of better food.

It makes sense that the closer to nature food is....the better. Man has always messed with nature and look at the result. Of course we won't be going back to Caveman days but when people grew their own garden and slaughtered their own chickens and pigs etc. they were much healthier.

We may have a longer life span than our predecessors but somehow it seems the quality of life especially in the latter years has diminished. We have a sharp rise in Alzheimer's Disease (exacerbated by using any products with aluminum in it, i.e. Anti-perspirants, Tums, etc.) Some cancers and of course the sharp rise in diabetes can all be associated with life-style and nutrition.

I for one try to purchase organic foods directly from farmer's markets and limit the amount of processed or packaged foods we eat.

Here is a list of the "Dirty Dozen" must buy organics:
www.msnbc.msn.com...

Although I don't drink milk myself, my fiance does so we buy Organic milk from Costco. Do the research on how regular milk is processed and you will never drink anything but organic again.

It can be overwhelming at first when you realize the quality of the foods out there, but once you begin to read the labels and choose wisely you will never go back.

Stay away from anything that has High fructose corn syrup in it, which is really hard to do since almost EVERYTHING has it in it. But it can be done.

I am not surprised with this "study" by the Chinese. Remember they are the ones that provided us with the grains that were added to our pet foods that killed many precious dogs and cats not that many months ago. Their standards of manufacture are much lower than ours and they don't have the FDA like we do. Oh yes, going organic will definitely hurt their export business and they know it.

All I can say is, it is up to each of us to take control of our own health and well-being by watching what we eat, living a healthy life-style: exercise, fresh air and reducing stress will add years to our lives and life to our years!

The source website looks like bunk to me, first of all.

Second, commons sense tells us that this story has to be false. 'Organic' food, is food grown without pesticides and without chemical fertilizers. It is the food that our Grand Parents and Great Grandparents ate, and their generations and older, rarely died of Cancer. Interestingly, the Cancer rates have grown at nearly the same rates that society has increased the use of Chemical Fertilizers and Pesticides (which themselves are often know Carcinogens). Don't be naive, or bigoted towards Organic foods, it leads you down a path of ignorance.

Politically, 'Organic' foods tend to be much more locally sourced than their mainstream chemically grown counterparts, which has a secondary effect preventing Chinese export of food products. That is, unless the Chinese want USDA investigators 'living' in their food processing plants. In order for the Chinese to sell 'Organic' foods in the United States, they would have to pass USDA certification, or implement their own program modeled after the USDA one, but possibly exceeding it. Even then, the USDA would need to 'certify' their certification.

Most of all, I think this 'article' is designed to pacify a future populace of their education about nutrition. I think that without the use of Petro-Chemically engineered foods, that the Population of China would grow very hungry. I think that this article, and its placement here at ATS are here to obfuscate the truth, and give credence to propaganda. If the people of China understood the truth about the foods that they are given, they would revolt for those reasons alone.

Good post, nothing I hadn't already suspected.

You wouldn't happen to have any links to scientific documents, on this subject??

Modern medicine has always followed he principal 'kill the disease without killing the patient'
In fact late 19th century medicine was often no less effective than today's it just half klled the patient in the process.

Dude. The reason 19th century medicine was killing people is because of trauma (no pain-killers) and infection (no awareness of the need for cleanliness). The fact is that cancer was a very rare condition back then. Today 1 in 3 women are expected to get it and 1 in 2 men.

WTF.

If they had pain killers and cleanliness, the death rate would have been very slim.

My sneaking suspicion.........the findings are true.

This is utter creppola. The PTB can make claims coming out of China till the cows come home and we wouldn't know the truth or the lie.

This is gross disinformation. There is no connection between chemoicals killing bugs and cancer suppression. In fact, the toxins that kill bugs PROMOTE cancer.

Man, it's getting rife with disinfo here, what with people saying fluoride compounds (toxic waste from fertilizer production) is A-OK, to suggestions that fast food is A-OK, to this! Look around at what all this has done to us! Cancer is EPIDEMIC!

If you buy this piece of garbage, have fun with the results in your life.

There is a whole industry built around presenting only negative findings to suit peoples ams-did you know the US and Germany have two of the highest life expectancties AND highest obesity levels......often its the lesser of two evils-give and take-funny that Americans are healthier than All organic khalahari bushmen

Healthier HOW? What are you using to compare here? Are you taking into consideration overall life expectancy? Or are you removing those who get stung by poisonous insects, killed by a large critter, infected and succumbing to it? (These are not a reflection of health but of other factors.)

You have to look at the data you are comparing.

Forget the babying stuff. Personally I'm on the Nietzschean diet.

It builds character and pain tolerance.

.....or to put it another way, the case for organics seems oh-so-logical and feel-good and nicety-nice...........but maybe, just maybe its a pack of lies, and processed food is better for us-how do you really know???

Try to eat an all organic raw food diet for a 2 weeks then eat an all processed diet for 2 weeks and see the difference.
