Beer Rationing

<<  1    2  >>

Beer rationing at Bathurst 1000

This is outrageous!

Police checkpoints will confiscate “excess alcohol” as motor racing fans descend on Mt Panorama, in New South Wales' central west, for the October 9-12 event.

For the second year running, NSW Police and V8 Supercars have agreed to limit the amount of beer, wine and spirits taken into the racing precinct.

Adults can take one case (24 cans) of full-strength beer or one block (36 cans) of light beer each day.

How do they expect people to stay constantly drunk on only a slab of beer (24 cans) a day? It's a conspiracy I tell you!

The Bathurst 1000 has quite the reputaion for being a calling card of unsavoury characters, it really isn't an event that caters to the family orientated crowd.

Alcohol + Idiots = Bigger Idiots.

If people took more responsability and conducted themselves in a more appropriate manner, then there wouldn't be any need for this too happen.

They have finally shot themselves in the foot.

But you should be happy that you can take any alcohol in there at all, I seem too recall that at Phillip Island Moto GP and Sandown 500, you couldn't take any in at all. (Though I did sneek it through past security. hehe.)

Though in saying this, when you go too Bathurst you have too expect the drunkeness and the partying.... it is an Australian motor racing event after all.

Cheers, Fox.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Again? I stayed away last year simply because of the lack of drunken fools I could laugh at!!

I especially liked the year that dude drove his ride-on lawnmower onto the track, absolute gold I tells ya!!!

24 cans of beer, pfffffffft. Police got no sense of style these days.

One slab of full strenght beer "PER DAY" ... isn't that enough?.

Didn't drunks throw that ROCK onto the track that nearly killed Dick Johnson.

I enjoy a drink but ,it seems some people can't go to anything without it.

Noticed how much more violence and uglier the violence is ...

Go Ford !!!

I agree with Roo, a case of beer a day is plenty

Beyond that you guys need to sneak in hard liquor, all that much beer does is slow down my capacity to cause trouble and be a nuicance, but a nice liter of JD and I won't need more than a case, that keeps me double fisted most of the day.

Hey I just noticed something, ...or one block (36 cans)...

Isn't a block 30 cans??

As with the states of Australia having everything different, ie: Pint/Schooner (sp?) blah blah...

Is there such a thing as a 36 can block or is it a typo??

How would you package such a thing???

It would have too be Tooheys though being NSW... yuck.

Yeah 2 dozen cans is nowhere near enough to enjoy the race. Should be at least 1 can per lap, or else it's just too boring...

With all that drinking, how can you enjoy the entire race when your having to go make multiple trips to the toilet?!

Or do they allow folks to relieve themselves right there in the stands?

Time for another beer!

Cheers!!!

Good job.

There's always too many roudy louts that ruin it for everyone else.

24 beers per person per day is enough. If it's not, then you're an alcoholic.

24 per person eh? Sheesh..after 4 Im running like a race horse to the restroom constantly!!!

I suppose to each his/her own. But considering that not everyone at a public event is of drinking age, I think that there should be limits set on that sort of thing. Its bad enough that you get a huge amount of influence via other means that kids see these days, I would think that kids seeing a bunch of drunk and rowdy people at an event would be a worse message to be sending to them.

Consider others before considering yourself in such situations. The youngster observing your example may be your very own!

Cheers!!!

Well you know what they say.... 24 beers in a case, 24 hours in a day... coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!

HA!! I think the cops just want free beer for themselves... how much are they paid anyway? If it 's not enough then that's conspiracy to get drunk for free, if they have enough, then it's just penny pinching thievery... hehe
