Personal note - a few years back we went to the Veterans Day ceremonies at Arlington Cemetary. We were given little flags to wave. I still have mine, along with the program leaflet and some pictures we took, tucked away in a waterproof bag. It's the kind of thing that you pass down to your children.

"Stories circulating about flags at the Democratic National Convention are false. We distributed more than 125,000 American made flags at the Convention - the flags removed from Invesco field were intended for other events and taken without permission. It's disappointing that someone would take American flags without authorization and then falsely describe how they were being used. We have the utmost respect for the American flag, and it's sad to see them being used for a cheap political stunt."

The flags were not going to be thrown away, some were going to be used for other events and others donated. You idiots just stole American flags for propaganda purposes. It doesn't have to be a 'collective decision'. All the individuals there made their own decisions to not-recycle and to disrespect the flag. No one has to get in front of them and say 'let's get together and do something stupid'.

So what? The whack jobs saved 12,000 flags! How many jobs have they saved? How many lives were sacrificed by these same people in Iraq? Is this supposed to make them saints now? Clinton (DEMOCRAT) went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

So evidently. we should have done nothing after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor? Oh, and how did FDR "lead us" into WW2? You do know it was the Germans who declared war on the US, I take it, a few days after Pearl Harbor. And yet it was FDR who "lead us" into WW2? I'd love to hear the tortured logic on that one.

Wrong again. This was an action by the U.N. which the U.S. participated. It started after North Korea invaded the South, disregarding the U.N. Decision that the 38th parrallel should be the dividing line. There is absolutely no way the war was "started" by Truman. This demonstrates an ignorance of history.

Wow. Wrong yet again. The Viet Nam war began many years before we got involved as the French Indo-China war, and the first American involvement was directed by Dwight Eisenhower, a republican president.

Since when did flags become holy relics? Why is burning flags super evil? It's just fabric! Sorry, this isn't a big deal to me. Sure recycling is good and all, but I am sure we can afford making/buying new flags (so it's okay if we throw some or 12 thousand of them away). Or maybe we could have given them away to African countries, like we do the jerseys of loosing super bowl teams .

FYI, waving a flag doesn't make you patriotic. Neither does chanting "USA USA USA".
In case you haven't read it, the Neocons stole these flags for propoganda. They were to be used at other Dem events.
