What are those multiple clicks while on ATS? And why am I now hearing them even when not on ATS

I thought this was very strange. How many of you hear the multiple clicks while on ATS. I hear them quite regularly, two or three clicks in a row, and now even when I'm off ATS I hear them. I hear them even if I don't have IE7 open. Could this be some kind of tracking or .exe program? I just thought it weird and kind of made me wonder.

Could it be the ads refreshing?

I get the clicking too while I'm browsing the site...I just asumed it was the ads changing.

Well why am I now hearing them with no browser window open. This has just been a recent occurance, and never had it happen before.

Download and run Spybot Search and Destroy. Make sure you update the definitions files before you run a full scan.

The multiple click sound thing is a sure-fire giveaway of a browser hijacker\logger running on your computer. I bet you probably have to click on the same link more than once in order for it to open sometimes, huh?

It couldn't hurt.

As previously mentioned: Spybot is your friend. I've never heard any clicks on this site using FF3 or IE8...

However my friend once reported random clicks, and my first question was "Are your speakers on?", to which she replied "no... they're off..." Turns out the clicks were just her hard drive protesting at something. A few months later, I had to replace that drive.

Other things that click can include:

Pop Up Blockers (usually has a visual notification)
Firewall notifications (mine clicks every time it blocks an unwanted connection)
Problems with the sound card drivers.
My shoulder (damn injuries!)

I used my spyware remover by norton and will post if it takes care of it. But wonder just which ad has caused this audible tracking cookie on my computer, if that is what it was.

I had the same problem when I used Internet Explorer. I am almost 100 percent sure I have not had this multiple click occurring since I upgraded to Firefox 3.

Here is the NoScript add on as well. Helps with ads!

I was lucky enough for someone to point these out for me.

I heard Norton was no that good, especially in the virus/trojan department. Trend Micro does wonders for me. It costs money but its once a year and updates every couple hours.
