Secret Service confiscates books & buttons from Ron Paul delegates

<<  1    2    3    4  >>

They took any and everything related to Ron Paul including signs, buttons, videos, slim jims, cards, even books.

I would like to know who is so concerned with Ron Paul that they would order the Secret Service to confiscate books and signs from delegates. This is illegal and a violation of the First Amendment, and whoever ordered this should be arrested.

One thing that caught my attention was during the DNC they had a count going for delegates for Hillary and Obama Both of them were listed. However if you go to the RNC, it was listed as Mccain and "Other". WTF is that? No wonder delegates were escorted out last night. They had no voice...it was a complete blackout. Proof that Mccain is more of the same.

I'd like to know who ordered this - it really smacks of complete arrogance and disregard for anyone else.

This is bush's democracy?

We'll never find out who ordered it, it'll be covered up like everything else in this country is.

Unfortunately it's just par for the course around here lately, this country has turned into a place overrun by a corrrupt goverment. Politicians that only seem to know how to lie and cover up, are arrogant, and have no regard for the people or the constitution, all they seem to care about are corporations and money.

What a shame that our forefathers fought so hard to give us a free country, and the means to keep it that way and look what we've let it become.

LOL Bush's democracy? I think you mean Bush's dictatorship !

This is a clear "no interference" policy.

But why are the secret service being used for this?

Haven't they got anything better to do?

or is that their job? to protect the presidents party from embarressment?

This is probably why:

Republican National Convention presidential vote, 2008

Candidate Votes Percentage

John McCain 2,343 98.45%
Ron Paul 15 0.63%
Mitt Romney 2 0.08%
Delegates that did not vote 20 0.84%

Source: en.wikipedia.org...

For arguing purposes, let's say each delegate represents a certain amount of people that ends up totaling the entire population of the US. If you follow the number here, there are 305,071,070 in the US. 0.63% of that is about 1,921,948 people who, despite overwhelming support for McCain, still resisted and voted for Ron Paul. Although that is small, for somebody who is a "fringe" candidate to receive even that much can be frightening for them, since Ron Paul supporters are known to be the most active of all the supporters.

All the Secret Service is doing is making sure that the number doesn't grow anymore. Does it make any sense to take Ron Paul stuff from delegates? Probably not, but it shows their desperation.

In my opinion this is just a taste of things to come if Bush the 2nd oh I mean McCaine gets elected. Sigh....what is this nation coming to when the two runners up to become the next president are clowns such as McCaine and Obama. It is a truly sad day when a real patriot that offers actual answers is looked as a crazy out there candidate because he believes in the such fringe things as the constitution!

Just like I did when Bush was elected, I'll tell all you McCaine voters out there that I told you so ahead of time. Just remember this post and the burn will be extra crispy! But if the people are that blind then I guess we get what we deserve sadly.

you sir get a star for that particular line.

Are they afraid that Ron Paul will win the election? Absolutely not. However they should be afraid that his way of thinking and acting is catching on. I think that is what scares them the most.

Thanks Red Mage. Since the status quo wants to crush Ron Paul, this leaves me to believe the rest of the candidates are arse kissing pretenders.

Hmm, what comes to my mind since the SS is involved is they probably were preempting any attempt of anything drastic by the RP supporters, who have been known to be a little uppety. Maybe they thought one of them was going to try something on McCain.

But the seizure of the buttons and stuff, that's whack. Law suit. Sue the SS. Good luck.

I hope we find out what their reasons were. Ron Paul is one of the few. He must be a powerful underdog, that they are so paranoid and focusing on him, I guess their afraid of his power, though not in the run for presidency anymore, still a good messenger and a threat to the elite.
