'Black hats' keep lookout for troublemakers [Republican Convention]

washingtontimes.com

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Fearing demonstrations from Ron Paul delegates here at the Republican National Convention, the party has created a "black-hat" squad to track the Paulites and other potential troublemakers to make sure they don't cause a scene on the convention floor.

Identified by their black baseball caps emblazoned with a white star, squad members keep an eye on delegates they fear might cause a scene. The squad is empowered by the convention managers to take delegates' credentials and kick them off the convention floor -- a step one convention official said would be unprecedented.

This is simply ridiculous. Remember all the fuss a while back about 'allowing the delegates to be counted'? How not doing so would disenfranchise people?

Well, the 'credentials' granted to each delegate now carry this fine print on the back (from the article): "Tickets may be revoked from persons engaging in inappropriate or disorderly behavior, or for any other reason deemed necessary by security personnel and/or the Republican National Committee."

So, democracy is all fine and dandy, unless it goes against what the RNC deems 'necessary'.

Is this what I saw just happen, Imissed what her flag said, but a security guard snatched a red flag out of a womans hand she made her way to the front, fighting him off, took off her jacket and had a pink shirt on with writing on it, but I could not read it because she was being dragged out by security.

I'll give McCain this......he was composed and nice about the incident and is continuing with his speech.

Apparently they were already seizing Paul material and following known Paul supporters.

Paul supporters searched and followed

McCain did seem to handle it quite well, laughing made him seem less robotic.

it seams that in the land of the free

you are free to withhold information
you are free to stalk whom you ever choose
you have the freedom to lie and distort the truth
you have the feedom to openly talk about inflicting pain to others outside your country and within your boarders

if this is the freedom you choose to live in vote for Mcpain
