All biblical yah-da-yah-da aside, the science, it would seem looks good. Or rather, bad - as in bad for any on this continent.

Interesting read. Have you determined what it was that ate the town in PA? Why did it stop there, even if burning today? Perhaps it's possible that we may see more and more similar events, but if it is all interconnected, why hasn't the whole dealio gone up? Again, interesting post.

The PA underground fire is real. It has been burning for many years. And will continue to burn as long as it can pull oxygen through cracks and caves. It is a coal fire.

The guy on this site has a great thesis. But the air fuel mix needs to be correct and I don't know how probable the correct mix would be. My understanding is that they pump non-flammable nitrogen gas into Natural Gas reserves to pressurize it.

I don't expect the whole continent to explode even if it did blow. I would expect some ferocious jets of fire and hot burned out gasses to errupt. I really doubt the natural gas could displace the continent. A bomb not only requires an explosive, and oxidizer, it requires exceeding the bounds of confinement to the point of bursting the container. We have the confinement but failing to displace the billions of megatons of continental rock would only result in jets of pressurized gas. Maybe wells everywhere would start popping like corks. That would be my worst case scenario.

No doubt - welcome to Honolulu PA - I was just curious as the post mentioned all of the oil fields were connected and when it went, BOOM. Is the drilling what caused the PA fire?

that was a post someone already posted and i seriously agree with it.. any further questioning on this matter will have to be precise and without a doubt...

Surely one of the pockets would explode before the others had reached 14% or whatever. I don't know who or what would be doing the coordinating to get everything to 14%. What replaces the air that replaces the oil? How about the middle east. Do they pump saltwater into their shafts? Why hasn't one of the oldest nat gas /oil cavities blown its top?

I haven't seen any mention of this in the Pentagon warning book that included Global warming scenarios. I can't remember the name of the book or paper.
