Obama is exciting, unifying, intelligent, motivating! People say he's inspiring, fantastic, and gives a GREAT speech!

His critics lambaste him and his "followers" for blindly supporting a man who just arrived on the scene without experience, for loving him for his presence, his good-looks, his charm.

"He's their messiah", they said.

So, the GOP decided they needed an "Obama" of their very own and they hand-picked Sarah Palin! She's exciting, unifying, somewhat intelligent and motivating! She's inspiring, fantastic, and gives a GREAT speech!

"She's their Goddess", her critics say. "She's without experience or real substance"... but man! She can get the Republicans excited!

Now, I hope the Obama Bashers can understand what people see in Obama. It's the EXACT SAME THING!!!

You LOVE her and that's OK. You relate to her. But she's no savior. She's a politician. Just as Obama is a politician.

Sarah Palin is the GOP's Obama! I'm thankful they got her! Now we can go forth and have a really exciting election!

Obama has a past that he doesn't want you to know about, that he regrets.
Sarah has nothing to hide and is proud of her past.

SHE IS NOTHING LIKE BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA THE FAKE.

(you guys are so panicking it is so funny to watch
)

You can read about that here:

www.washingtonpost.com...

The problem with this whole analogy is that McCain was already holding his own against Obama. Lest we forget, this is McCain vs. Obama not Obama vs. Palin. McCain already towers over Obama in words and deeds. Palin was just the final icing on the cake that helped to completely galvanize the Republican party into one state of mind and unity

You should see the panic over here.
But that's because I'm old and it's my bday.
Actually I think BH was trying to throw you a bone.
Cause what you got is:

Let’s see, how to appeal to all those wavering independents and disaffected Hillary supporters? Let’s insult those stupid Democrats and Obama people reeeel good and kick ‘em in the teeth, sneer at their efforts to be inclusive, to work toward unity and rehabilitate America’s damaged image around the world, or to help people in great need, and then make a shameless plea for their support at the polls. Scoff, especially rudely, at their community organizing efforts – the ultimate and most effective hands-on grassroots outreach programs that help people in need directly where they live – especially if government has turned its back. If Sarah Palin wasn’t belittling the community organizer, Rudy Giuliani before her was literally laughing at the very words “community organizer” every time he uttered them.

If you want smart-ass remarks and cruel, arrogant putdowns, and you want to talk trash about Barack Obama, Palin and pals are your kind of people. Palin proved in her big speech that she could sling mud as well as shooting moose. Yes, she can dish it out. And she can read that speech that was written for her by the McCain campaign guys very well. Here’s hoping she’ll be able to take it, too, because she made it clear that she’s ready to play with the big boys – on equal footing, and to be as mean, nasty, and insulting if not moreso. Maybe that also means they no longer have to live under the restrictions against duking it out with a girl.

Anyway, I'm eating chocolate/coconut/marzipan bday cake now so it's alllll good!

Obama has not expressed any regrets for his candor. In a preface to the new edition, he says that he would tell the same story today "even if certain passages have proven to be inconvenient politically."

It doesn't sound like he "doesn't want us to know about" something, or that he regrets it, as Fathom charged. In fact, he's been quite open about his past.

And Palin has publicly acknowledged that she smoked pot. Of course, she's against it now. Is that regret?

Fathom, you think Palin has never done anything she regrets?

That's unrealistic. Of course, it proves my point. That some people are seeing Palin the way many people see Obama. As someone who can do no wrong. That's exactly my point. Thanks for helping me out on that.

Uh, OK, then I think I call BS on the claim that Obama does not want anyone to know about his past... he has freaking published it in a book.

And I certainly don't see any regret on his part, or reason for any... he made some choices as a youngster that he later decided were not his best ever choices... big whoop. Find two people who did not do that.

And I have for years been an active debunker of the myth that drug use inevitably ruins someone's life, so I don't care what drugs anybody, be it Obama or Bush, used in their past. Given the impact on judgment of any drug, I would encourage non-use by a sitting president...

So I guess I'll put this down as another Obamyth, and not worry about it.

Thanks for the source link...

BH threw you guys a bone with this thread. You should show some grace.

"Sarah has nothing to hide and is proud of her past."

Are you kidding me? I would point out some of the basics, like taking money from the same people who bribed Indicted Senator Stephens, Abuse of power investigations, and my favorite...EARMARKS THAT JOHN MCCAIN HIMSELF CONDEMNED AS PORK SPENDING. Palin having hired the same lobbyist that hooked up indicted Senator Stephens with his Oil sugar daddy to get money from DC etc... Then she claims the REFORMER image.

Not impressed.

---
The Post reported in a September 2 article that Palin "employed a lobbying firm to secure almost $27 million in federal earmarks for a town of 6,700 residents while she was its mayor, according to an analysis by an INDEPENDANT GOVERNMENTAL WATCHDOG GROUP."
mediamatters.org...
---

WASILLA, ALASKA -- For much of his long career in Washington, John McCain has been throwing darts at the special spending system known as earmarking, through which powerful members of Congress can deliver federal cash for pet projects back home with little or no public scrutiny. He's even gone so far as to publish "pork lists" detailing these financial favors.

Three times in recent years, McCain's catalogs of "objectionable" spending have included earmarks for this small Alaska town, requested by its mayor at the time -- Sarah Palin.
www.latimes.com...

-----

Wasilla had received few if any earmarks before Palin became mayor. She actively sought federal funds -- a campaign that began to pay off only after she hired a lobbyist with close ties to Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), who long controlled federal spending as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He made funneling money to Alaska his hallmark.

www.latimes.com...
----

But I know you will claim any story disparaging Palin is an "Elite, Left wing, Liberal media conspiracy ploy". All the better for "unifying the base".

I prefer the far right unified. That way I can tell the lunatics from the rest of the GOP that I actually have some respect for.

I don't think any of the stories I have seen so far in the "Media Frenzy" concerning Sarah Palin will make a difference in the end.

Obama is friends with terrorists

Obama sat under the teachings of a white hating church leader who teaches white hate for 20 years.

Obama took part on property scams with a well know criminal

Obama has never been Mayor

Obama has never Governor

Obama is a socialist

Obama's brother lives in a shack on one dollar a month.

Obama is a loser who is only the nominee because his skin is black. He and his people and aids trashed Hillary with sexist hate as they are now trying to do to Governor Sarah Palin.

In November, I will be getting to the polls early to cast my vote for McCain and Governor Palin.

Really? What, do they have a pretend voting station in the cafeteria at the mental institution? Maybe a shoe box with some pretty stickers and a bell you can ring?

How does questioning Sarah Palin about her political past qualify as sexist?

How does you saying the only reason Obama was nominated is because of his skin color...not qualify as racist?

Like I said...Palin makes it all the easier to tell the extreme right from the sane folks within the GOP. The extreme right is frothing at the mouth and spouting nonsense in defense of her.

What, like the Saudi Royal Family?

Obama sat under the teachings of a white hating church leader who teaches white hate for 20 years.

I know right. That would explain his hateful words and disposition.

Obama took part on property scams with a well know criminal

That explains the criminal charges and the jail time.

Obama has never been Mayor

That is certainly true, but he's never shot a wolf from a helicopter either, so let's call that a push shall we?

Obama has never Governor

That is also well spotted. Let's play a game. Who is the last governor to become president? How's that working out?

Obama is a socialist

If that helps get through the day.

Obama's brother lives in a shack on one dollar a month.

So do I.

Obama is a loser who is only the nominee because his skin is black. He and his people and aids trashed Hillary with sexist hate as they are now trying to do to Governor Sarah Palin.

This one is all yours to stand in it's own glory.

In November, I will be getting to the polls early to cast my vote for McCain and Governor Palin.

Peace be with you.

Anything else we can help you with.

That's hilarious! Michelle Obama, anyone? His father, his brothers? And by the way, Barack Obama has offered to help his half-brother.
It's not his job to force himself on his brother.

And this proves my point again. The attacks on Palin (for the most part) have been as useless and personal and irrelevant and untrue as the ones on Obama!

They're both "shining stars" and the other party just cannot stand it!
So they go after the family and other personal issues.

It's classic! They are the SAME to their respective parties.

Why do the MSM hate women so much?

They slammed Hillary, now they are slamming Palin.

I guess when you are in the tank for Lord Obama, you do what you got to do? I guess it is OK to be sexist, but you definately don't want to be perceived as racist. Which is what happens if you oppose Lord Obama.

For the same reason people hate Obama. Because they're both new, cool, exciting, CELEBRITIES!!! You know how people LOVE to see celebrities fall???

I guess when you are in the tank for Lord Obama, you do what you got to do?

Just as when you're in the tank for Goddess Sarah.

I'm not attacking your love of Sarah. I'm pointing out that it's the same as many people's love for Obama.
Including mine.

From who's point of view?

Honestly, it's next to impossible to get elected President straight out of the Senate. It's only been done twice before.

What are the chances of being elected president directly from a seat in the Senate? History's answer, at best, is "slim." While 15 of the nation's 41 presidents served in the Senate at some point in their public careers, only two—Warren Harding and John F. Kennedy—won their presidential races as incumbent senators.

www.senate.gov...

This is what makes the McCain/Palin ticket stronger. Instead of having two Senators, it's a Senator and a Governor. It's no secret that Governors are better equipped to be President. Everyone knows it. Just look at history.

Bush's approval rating is so low his own convention didn't want him.
Come on now.
When was the last time THAT happened?

But you're tying popularity to success as if they were the same thing. While it's true that popularity is one measure of success it's not the end all marker.

Its this attitude in the media that has people on our side furious. People who follow Obama (media included) did everything they could to dismiss any one of Obama's shady connections. They swept them under the carpet and declared it all over. Its that kind of arrogance, that's starting to get you guys in trouble. People aren't stupid and can see than total hypocrisy when you attack Palin.

The fact is, Obama has a shady past and lots of shady friends. People want to know who these people are and what connections Obama has to them. Why does he have some many radical friends? Why was his 20 year mentor an insane, racist hatemonger? these are questions that the media payed attention to, in order to debunk and discredit it. Why does Obama's experience not matter? Why is the media trying to claim Palin (THE VP) has less experience than Obama (The President)?
