Several Polls Confirm Support

Public opinion polls taken in late June show Americans favor increased domestic production of energy over environmental concerns. The shift shows up across the political spectrum and among all age groups.

A June 17 Rasmussen poll found 67 percent of Americans were in favor of offshore drilling, and only 18 percent opposed. Sixty-four percent of those polled by Rasmussen believe increased drilling will lead to lower energy prices. A Reuters/Zogby poll taken one day later found 60 percent supporting offshore drilling, with 40 percent opposed.

Results from a June 19 Gallup poll were similar, with 57 percent backing offshore drilling and 41 percent opposed.

that obsolescence is still hypothetical at this point

the company i work for is a f500 corp, and they're profiting well from developing alt energy technology, with little tax funding at all

so, we should be dependent and vulnerable to market whims for our petrol until this alt energy becomes practical?

you also forgot about how mccain will also fund the alt energy industry and never once implied that drilling our own oil was the only solution.

American "neo-con-artists" have learned every con job must be accompanied by it's own melody or theme music to cement their allegiance to the "United fraud on America." It's the Republicans dumbed down, grease and greed soaked, un-evironmental version of Michael Jacksons hit --- "We are the world."

Our Automobiles once had duel capabilities of running on Alcohol or Gasoline.
