here is the thing that gets me.

Republicans, pay attention here.

Please.

Several Polls Confirm Support

Public opinion polls taken in late June show Americans favor increased domestic production of energy over environmental concerns. The shift shows up across the political spectrum and among all age groups.

A June 17 Rasmussen poll found 67 percent of Americans were in favor of offshore drilling, and only 18 percent opposed. Sixty-four percent of those polled by Rasmussen believe increased drilling will lead to lower energy prices. A Reuters/Zogby poll taken one day later found 60 percent supporting offshore drilling, with 40 percent opposed.

Results from a June 19 Gallup poll were similar, with 57 percent backing offshore drilling and 41 percent opposed.

This is not a Republican issue. Stop with the partisanship, please.

Things like this make you lose your faith in humanity. It's a short term solution anyway, and what about the PLANET IDIOTS?

short terms solutions are evil, yeah!

wait a tic, no, they're not...

mccain offers a combination of short and long term solutions, both logical and wholly necessary.

with barack, you only get the long term, hypothetical solution... alternative energy has yet to produce much of anything that is practical...

what do to in the meantime? nothing, is it? ridiculous...

the earth was around for billions of years before humans, and will be here long after we leave...

this planet has weathered much worse than what humans can possibly do to her, for instance, volcanoes have been spewing more greenhouse gas than we could possibly hope to produce... what an inflated view of the impact of humans on this planet, you have... its shameless, really.

McCain offers more oil. Obama offers to make oil obsolete. Hmmm...

What works better, a barrel of oil at 80 dollars a barrel or not having to worry what it costs because we don't use it any more?

That reminds me of the story of the guy who had the biggest carriage company back in 1908.

Not Henry Ford, the other guy.

that obsolescence is still hypothetical at this point

the company i work for is a f500 corp, and they're profiting well from developing alt energy technology, with little tax funding at all

so, we should be dependent and vulnerable to market whims for our petrol until this alt energy becomes practical?

you also forgot about how mccain will also fund the alt energy industry and never once implied that drilling our own oil was the only solution.

I love the new commercials, don't you?

"Obama won't drill for more oil! McCain will!"

And why won't Obama drill for more? They never say, but the reason is because he wants to make Oil Obsolete.

So, Neocons, who was the largest horse carriage maker in 1910?

American "neo-con-artists" have learned every con job must be accompanied by it's own melody or theme music to cement their allegiance to the "United fraud on America." It's the Republicans dumbed down, grease and greed soaked, un-evironmental version of Michael Jacksons hit --- "We are the world."

Oops, except every song they use gets removed because they never ask the artist. And then what happens? The musician tells them to stop or they will be sued.

Our Automobiles once had duel capabilities of running on Alcohol or Gasoline.

Rockerfeller funded the temperance movement and ultimately, Prohibition.

This gave Gasoline the monopoly.

Hemp can produce tons of alcohol cheaply... Spread this tidbit far and wide...
it's historical fact.

We are being herded like sheep by very clever people for a century.

Update!

The song the McCain keeps using, Barracuda, is still being used even after the band threatened to sue. I hope they do, win a few million from Mrs. McCain's 100Million fortune.
