Russian response was correct and not on lies , unlike your Fascist USA lies of WMD to commit genocide in Iraq and steal its oil

First of all, I'm pretty sure that if I started this post with "more BS from an Ignorant Asian" the post would be removed and I'd have points deducted. I'm sure your similar comment will be left alone though, since they always are... I just wanted to leave a little gripe about that.

But second, you say Russia didn't start the war on lies. Yet people have posted dozens of links here at ATS revealing that Russia intentionally inflated the casualties of the strike on South Ossetia. That's a MAJOR lie, because there is a big difference, legally and politically speaking, between heavy collateral damage and genocide.

And no, I'm not reposting those links just because your tunnel vision skipped over them the first time. If you care about intelligent conversation instead of spewing propaganda you can do a search on your own time.

At any rate... how does the simple act of being Russia suddenly make the use of cluster bombs acceptable if they weren't okay before? Didn't you yourself just post something a few days back about "hypocrisy?" You really have me wondering about you. Your obsessive, manic hatred of an entire country of people is flat out appalling. It's probably just plain unhealthy to be that infatuated with hating (and according to some of your posts, killing, nuking, or using biological weapons against) 300 million people just because of where they live.

By the way... Internet... American invention. If you hate us so much, kindly quit using our stuff. :-)

and there are several links and threads exposing the flaws of those reports :

www.abovetopsecret.com...

there are several eye witnesses about several hundreds dead.....

The South Ossetians claim 1,400 dead, thus far, most of them victims of the Georgian assault on Tskhinvali, and Vladimir Putin went so far as to accuse the Georgians of launching a "genocide." According to the BBC, however, "Russia failed to back up its claims of Georgian atrocities." Not that the West is all that interested in airing the evidence. As Variety put it in a piece on how this war is being reported,

"Coverage in the U.S. and Europe is leaning heavily toward reports on the Georgian casualties of Russian bombing over the weekend. Few details are being given about the thousands said to have been killed when Georgia attacked Tskhinvali, the capital of South Ossetia, on Thursday and Friday."

The blatant media bias displayed by the "mainstream" news organizations is more than matched by the shameful cover-up of Georgian atrocities by the mainline "human rights" organizations, first and foremost Human Rights Watch. In the most brazen display of willful ignorance since Walter Duranty overlooked the Soviet gulags, HRW spokeswoman Anna Neistat told the Guardian that Ossetian claims of Georgian atrocities were "suspicious"
:

"The figure of 2,000 people killed is very doubtful. Our findings so far do not in any way confirm the Russian statistics. On the contrary, they suggest the numbers are exaggerated."

Neistat avers that no more than 44 were killed and around 200 were wounded in the Georgian attack on Tskhinvali. Perhaps she should talk to International Red Cross spokeswoman Anna Nelson, who reports area hospitals "overflowing" with the dead and the wounded.
antiwar.com...

and yes on more on HRW propagnada, look at what it does , claims it was stated by a doctor(whose identity they claim is secret and cannot be disclosed) :

HRW called the Russian death toll figure of 2,000 unfounded, citing a doctor who said that between August 6 to 12 the hospital treated 273 wounded, more military than civilian. The doctor also said that 44 bodies had been brought to the hospital since the fighting began, both military and civilian. According to HRW, "the doctor was adamant that the majority of people killed in the city had been brought to the hospital before being buried"

and as usual , the western media and HRW claims are flimsy at best , as they do not disclose the identity of so called alleged doctor

which , seems that HRW is spewinf propaganda , like other western media outlets , which are spewing one sided propaganda in favour of WEst

here are some eyewitness testimonies :

Fleeing resident Lyudmila Ostayeva, 50, told AP news agency: "I saw bodies lying on the streets, around ruined buildings, in cars. It's impossible to count them now. There is hardly a single building left undamaged." International Red Cross spokeswoman Anna Nelson said it had received reports that hospitals in Tskhinvali were "overflowing" with casualties.
news.bbc.co.uk...

bodies lying around buildings as witnesses stated and Red Cross and UNO have different things to say , rather than HRW version , which does not even name the alleged doctor

and several others , but HRW and other groups fail to provide proof for the flimsy claims they make ....

they have not named the alleged doctor firstly, on whose basis they make

also, heres a link showing the extensive damage to South Ossetian cities :

Refugees 'escape horror' of South Ossetia battle

A South Ossetian woman cries as a girl sleeps on her lap

Russia's Education Minister says authorities will "look for children and people who are hiding in basements" (AFP: Natalia Kolesnikova)

* Related Link: Background: South Ossetia and Abkhazia

A 40-year-old woman stands in the middle of a footpath and bursts into tears after arriving with a convoy of refugees in the embattled Georgian enclave of South Ossetia.

"When the Russians arrived, we were so happy, and after they bombed them [the Georgians]," said the woman called Meri, referring to the Russian assault and air raids on Georgia that forced Tbilisi to pull back its troops from South Ossetia.

She arrived at Java, about 20 kilometres from the main city of Tskhinvali, with a group of refugees, mostly women, escorted by Russian soldiers.

They escaped from the "horror", the one word they all used to describe the scenes of attacks by Georgian troops, battling against Russian and Ossetian rebel forces over the past three days.

One woman told how a family of four including two children tried to flee from a Georgian tank but it "fired on their car and they were all burned" to death, said Angela, who like all the refugees only gave her first name.

In another incident, a woman eight months pregnant and two family members fleeing from the city under attack were hit by tank fire and "nothing remained of them," Angela said.

She saw the Georgian tanks roll into Tskhinvali, the soldiers shouting "Hail Saakashvili," who is the president of Georgia.

"They destroyed the city," added Inna, 33, who said she could not understand how the Georgian troops "could do that to civilians."

"You see your friend's home burning and there's nothing you can do. You just watch and cry, it's a genocide," Inna said.

An old woman among the refugees said all she had left was the dress she was wearing.

"My house is destroyed," she said.

At Java, a refugee camp of tents is being set up in a stadium by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Services, Education Minister Zamira Giova said.

look at what eye witnesses of the geniocide are saying and yet we have have organzations like HRW pulling out stupid claims that they cannot even support

You want to respond to something Manson? Respond to this then.

I myself do not like wars, I never have and never will. I hate the fact that this country is in a war overseas. I think this war we are in is BS from the word go.

Now, with that said, what I find hard to understand, is the fact that you are against the US and the war that they are fighting. You claim they are killing millions of people over in the ME. Ok, I`m fine with your point there. I don`t like it either, myself. But what I find that is hard to swallow from you, is, you claim to hate the killing we do, but yet you want people over here killed. What`s the difference between the two? No difference at all. Killing people is killing people no matter what part of the world it is happening in. So where does that make you any different then Mr. Bush? Wanting to see someone killed because you don`t like the fact that they are killing? That has no logic to it at all. You sir, have a twisted sense of right and wrong. Like I said before, hate can cloud your thinking, and in the end, it`s going to eat you alive.

it is called creating fear of war .

because most westerners who support the killing of others in foreign lands , it is necessary to show the what war is ACTUALLY capable of ....

it is also necessary to have a taste of hate from the oppressed ....

That`s what I thought from the start. You are using fear to get it to stop. Well, that`s all fine and good, but understand, pushing fear as you are can go to far. It can backfire on you, and cause more hate in the end. Yes, fear can open many eyes, which is good in the end. But, for those who are dead set in their ways, it is like a call to arms in their minds. That can cause more harm then good, and who in their right mind wants that?

It's got nothing to do with injecting fear as a means. It's more to do with the fact that your a hypocrite who condemns US actions yet, condones those against the US. Regardless of country of residence, people everywhere are cool, it's those wishing death and destruction that aren't, and manson is guilty as charged.

Manson, do you not see the contradiction in your own statements, people like you are the exact ones that cause US adventures in the first place, you wish death and destruction upon states then cry foul when you reap the repurcussions!!!

Irrespective of what happened in Georgia the main thing that did happen was that the US and Israel were caught red handed and with their pants down. Red handed because they were using Georgia for their planned attack on Iran and their pants down because they did not expect the Russians to react in the way they did.

This is substantiated by the US lying despot media machine and others I may add including the UK to try and make it look that it was Russia that stated all this when it did not. Thats not to say Russia was not aware what was going on but if the US started it Russia certainly finished it.

Also from the bigger picture point of view what will the war planners do now about attacking Iran knowing full well that Russia will support Iran and so will other countries. Maybe all those war mad patriots in their respective countries better start building their bunkers for when the nukes start flying. They wont be patriots for very long though will they.

Purposely targeting a civilian only population could potentially be a war crime, but combatants historically purposely hide in civillian populations. Their use in that case would be no different than a classic seige going way back to pre Roman times, where the besieged civilian population along with the combatants hold up in the stronghold suffer the same fate.
Ho hum history marches on.

None of which makes it less of a war-crime. Military should man up do what it has to and submit itself for prosecution. No one is above the law.

Why is it that my 3 year old has to learn morals and self-restraint and seemingly no one else does?

Your post demonstrates illogic as the method you describe has never achieved the ends you describe. Ordinarily it wouldn't come up as a moral person would self-censor that thought as it came from the reptile brain...

It is very revealing that minus the weapons there is very little difference in the attitudes and mindsets of some of these posts than in the respective organizations and governments who are doing this for real...

The sources for all the articles you posted are basically Russian government press releases. You can't logically sit there and try to prove any sort of truthfulness in Russia's claims using nothing but Russia's claims. Circular logic is equal to straight idiocy, don't you get it?

Red Cross said hospitals were overflowing with casualties... well guess what, a hundred people will usually overflow a hospital. I feel bad for the people who were hurt or who lost family members, but it was a war, and that's just what happens.

If they didn't want to get caught in the crossfire, maybe their illegitimate, unrecognized government should have cracked down on the separatist rebels who had been firing mortars into Georgia before the retaliatory rocket attack took place.

Oooh, yeah I went there.

Where is the evidence that these were civilians? Once you've found proof that these were civilians, and not separatist fighters, where is your proof they they were deliberately targeted? And once you have proof that they were deliberately targeted, where is your proof that they were not just misidentified?

Rockets missing their target and hitting the wrong people is not genocide. People being in the same building as a target and getting killed with them is not genocide. A couple of rogue units going crazy and killing a bunch of people isn't genocide either - it's murder on their part, but it's not genocide on behalf of their government.

High collateral damage cannot be avoided when a force is armed primarily with outdated SOVIET equipment.

You keep screaming genocide like a Russian-trained parrot. You keep posting these worthless crap articles that are based on the word of Russian and South Ossetian "officials" as their sources. And here you sit, stewing in anger and wallowing in your sick hatred, with no proof whatsoever that any genocide actually occurred. All you have is a list of collateral damage, provided by the legitimate government of one of the forces directly involved in the conflict.

Edit to add:

In fact, while I'm asking for proof, where's your proof that all these people with "place of burial: unknown" are even dead to begin with? Or that they died because of the fighting?

The fact that many of them were killed on Zarskoi road. This was the main evacuation route for civilians. The separatist fighters wouldn't be sitting around on the wide open road.

And if you take time to read it, the list does mention if the dead were part of S Ossetian police force or militia (amounting to fighters).

There is a documentary I posted in a new thread earlier titled "Wounds of Tskhinvali". That will have some of the proof for you. I am sure as this clears up, more will follow.

As for deliberately targeted - there were no major military installations in Tskhinvali. Georgians used Grad launchers (pretty much carpet bombing), as well as possibly cluster bombs. The documentary I talked about shows that nearly every civilian house in Tskhinvali is damaged.

As for proof - this is war not a movie. Deliberacy of actions is hard to prove as an after-though, but it can be deduced from facts such as the ones provided. There is still no definitive proof that Serbians are guilty of war crimes, or that the Holocaust is "real". Some people simply won't be satisfied short of actually witnessing the events.

Oh look I just burned your house and killed your family. No worries - I misidentified your house for a fireplace, and your family for firewood

Carpetbombing of a civilian city is hardly misidentification. And even then - misidentification does not prove that one isn't guilty. If they didn't know what the fruck they were shooting at - why did they shoot to begin with?

And what in your opinion was the target in Tskhinvali? Old ladies? Hospitals? Families with kids? Apartment buildings?

Georga conducted a well documented artillery strike on a civilian city in the midst of a declared ceasefire. There is footage of this, and Georgia admits it.

Why start a war knowing that there will be high "collateral damage"? And "collateral damage" is a term widely thrown around these days by entities that partake in war often (read U.S.). WTF gives them the right to have collateral damage to begin with, in an unjustified war?

9/11 was collateral damage too. So was Pearl Harbor. So was the holocaust. Anyone can say collateral damage. It is not an excuse of any kind.

Place of burial unknown means that their relatives or someone who knew them witnessed their death, but had to leave them behind to evacuate.
