LOL I know it!!!!

I have Nothing, nothing at all against education, I am just saying this is typical obama and typical party line stuff!

The education is there, I know there is more of it now than ever and when i was in school and we are going back 20 years there was more than i could deal with without being disturbed of my education by it

It doesn't take more than a few shows of put the condom on the Bannana for kids to know how... LOL No One wants too!!! And the Pill is a 30 minute video too

I just dont' see what MORE education there can be or what funding is lacking

What I am seeing is alot of young girls getting pregnant on purpose in a reaction

and I think that reaction is to seeing how unfulfilled their career moms lifes really are and the lack of love an attention that comes from having career parents...s o the sek to have love

That's the real reason teen pregnancy is going up again and no class will fix that.

Most women want to have children, it's what they want, it's fulfilling it's real... I think the whole Career thing has left alot of Ladies high and dry... and alot of their daughters know it

Alot of women I know want... a MAN around, and to be mothers just don't want to be treated like crap for respected...CHIVALRY, a Cowboy a Guy in their lives and Children...

No social agenda will change that for very long

Again, not knocking safe sex education, it's just an empty promise for a real dilema... go to barnes and noble 500 books on the subject every school has a class, then health ed and tv and the net and mom and dad...

The education is... unlimited it never shuts up actually

and it does almost no good, the kids know, that's it in a nutshell, they choose not to, more education is not the answer

You can't tell people like China not to have children... what is really being pushed is personal satisfaction and materialism OVER Family life

To NOT have kids is jammed down your throat...some of you are scared to have them "who am I" "what will I do" "what kind of person am I"

Better than the guy with the fifth grade education who knocked up your great grandmother when she gave birth in a barn at 15
that's who you are...

It's an agenda, the real truth is, most of the time kids will be who they are in spite of anything the parents do, short of being horribly abuseive or so well off that they have privelidge the rest of us are in the grey zone ahve there own personalities and you achievements don't help or hinder all that much at all...

Being a parent is not the chore the social scientist make it out to be

So...with all the REAL political issues that are paramount to the future of this country - like diplomacy, terrorism, the economy, healthcare, how to sustain the aging baby boomers with a failing social security system, etc., ad finitum, ad nauseum...

we've decided for like the 4th election in a row to center in on the personal beliefs of the two candidates on issues that really shouldn't even be a federal issue?

Great we're a stones throw from just being taken over from the inside out by the populace's stupidity, fear and intolerance. You same morons who want to control other people's choices are going to wake up somebody and whine like little spanked babies because you're hungry in the middle of the next Great Depression or the literal collapse of our country to another sovereignty.

Wrong! WRONG!

Wro wro wro wro WRONG!!!

You didn't read your own source, you didn't read interpid's post. Maybe if our words had a little picture of Jesus above them you'd read them, but I won't do that. I'll just beg...

it should also include other, you know, information about contraception because, look, I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby. I don't want them punished with an STD at the age of 16. You know, so it doesn't make sense to not give them information."

I bolded for emphisis so maybe you'd actually see what they tried to point out.

So now, let's go over what you said, but take out the incorrect information...

are you still with me? still reading?? still paying ATTENTION

Obama said that if THEY (his own children)

Hey look, you got one right, have a cookie, hell, have two, presidential election season comes just once every four years. It's like the olympics, but with pandering sleezeballs.

made a mistake (got pregnant)

Now, here's where you're WRONG

The mistake would be having sex, not getting pregnant.

See, now all you need to do is read the parts I bolded and you too can understand that Obama was refering the safe sex and not abortion when he talks about not being punish for their mistakes.

In fact, to further drive home my point, look up at the part I underlined...

See, Obama also mentions being "punished" with an STD for making a mistake. Last time I checked, abortions don't cure STDs, and the GOP isn't trying to outlaw antibiotics. So Obama is OBVIOUSLY talking about prevention before the fact, and not correction after.

Do you seriously think he would talk about abortion so frivolously? No, I don't think you do. As a matter of fact I think you like skewing the facts...
but let's continue.

still with me?

he wouldn't want THEM (his own children) PUNISHED WITH A BABY.

That's right, punished. Deal with it.
He's advocating safe sex education so people aren't punished with a baby, in direct contradiction to Palin's faith based initiative nonsense of abstinence only education.

Some people have hopes, dreams, and desires to attend to before becoming a breeder is even an option. The truth is, I'm already educated and I probably shouldn't care if some red neck will never live out her dreams because of a baby. In fact, I should be excited, that just means more chance for me to get ahead, but I do care, I guess I'm just compasionate that way.

Babies can often doom a person to mediocrity. It may not be politically correct to say so, but the truth often isn't. Living, learning, experiencing, and bettering can all be cut short because of abstinence only education which is PROVEN to not work.

A long-awaited national study has concluded that abstinence-only sex education, a cornerstone of the Bush administration's social agenda, does not keep teenagers from having sex.

Two things are holding Tenneseans back from really attacaking the STD rates seen in this state. Comprehensive sexual education and parents willing to look at the realities of life rather than try to control their child’s environment outside the home.

So, the next time you take a quote way out of context and disingenuously try to steer the argument in your prefered direction, make sure I'm not around, or intrepid's not around, or... as a matter of fact, make sure most of the ATS membership isn't around. Because the only thing as much fun as UFOs, is debunking nonsense.

Lol btw do you excpect to be attracted to anyone after 10 years or so still????

Not without work my friend

As far as statistics... my situation is proof, that a poor family with lots of kids doesn't turn out worse all the time than doing every thing "the right way"

and the Math is simple have 1 kid, if it dies your alone and we live in a world where sad things happen and... People shouldn't go into the rest home with no one to visit

28/29 isn't bad, I'm not saying that having kids in your 30's for a woman is bad always, plenty of kids are just fine... but a few abortions and waiting your risking NOT having kids at all...and the labor IS harder and the risks are Greater

and you will be older when your children are young

and the numbers are... Just real, my kids don;t have grandparents on my side my parents having done the later on thing...

yay... that's great! Know what I mean (that was sarcastic)

Pay when your young, or pay when your old... can't have it all

47 with a 10 yr old and 37 0r 27 with a 10 year old desppite a few hard years, is a much different thing for the child

I can play football, I can jump from the top of the monkey bars, I can hike the mountains and row the fishing boat

My son will get out of college and... I'll be 47, he will be in my life as an adult I wont be OLD

Am I crazy for wanting to spend real time with my kids? I don't think so

I see women in their 40's with 10 year olds... they don't look too thrilled I'll say that much chasing down kids... be prepared to be exhausted

and a career and an extra decade to party really doesn't help in that category

Well OMG! There you go!

That is the real answer to end the divide... It should NOT be a Federal issue, nor should drugs or gun control or any of what divides America!

These should be State issues which leaves people Choices as to where they wish to be and how they wish to live

This is Social theory and if yopu want real answers to what works and does not work...state by state you will see results and lives and what really happens!

Experiment socially on a federal level...and take the whole country down in the processs if your wrong

posted on Sep, 2 2008 @ 07:11 PM
NO! I reject that idiocy full throttle.

This is NOT socialist theory. This is the U.S. constitutionalized Republic theory. These issues are the STATES' issues...not the federal. The U.S. Federal government has limited powers and they do NOT include these.

You need to spend just a WEE FRIGGIN' BIT OF YOUR TIME STUDYING THE CONSTITUTION...studying political science and get a damned clue!

These are STATE issues...decided by the general populace of EACH STATE.

They have no business in a Presidential election and it's moronic thought as has been spewed here that continues to bastardize the Presidential election process.

Thanks, I have been wondering about this. Perhaps you could help me out.

She is 17. She is 5 months pregnant. When was her birthday? She could have only been 16 when they "rubbed noses". Does that matter?

Valhall realy did hit the nail on the head...

Can I ask for anyone that knows... why is this all actually a Federal issue?

Why is the president dealing with this on any level?

It really and truely is a thing where Alaska and Chicago have 2 entirely different sets of standards and what would and would not work isn't it!

Alaska isn't quite over populated big city life, alaska could hold if it grew... comfortably 150 Million People before it was urbanized and there would still be trees and mountains don't be fooled.

You can understand the thinking that formed both of their opinions... and how the situation is vastly different

As I sit here in a fairly empty state myself outside of this city... compared to my opinion growing up in NY, I'd say my views have changed over time...

How was this ever and dope and all the stuff that ...honestly does distract a president from running a nation, how come we all aren't fighting for States Rights?

LOL ur..hello, I just agreed with you up there ...perhaps you did not catch that

I was saying i'm with you 100% on that

There is in the end no realism to, people from differnet places being in agreement on these issues... not social issues...

posted on Sep, 2 2008 @ 07:22 PM
Because they stopped teaching the constitution years ago, I guess.

When we relegate these issues to the federal level we remove the voters of the various states from being able to make a choice. For each situation - same sex marriage, abortion, and the list goes on...when they get placed at the federal level we strip the States of another power that was constitutionally given to them.

And both sides do it...if a State's general populace votes for something then the other side claims it unconstitutional. And then it becomes some great talking point in a presidential election.

Unadulterated (which I'm sure is another nonfederal issue) boo-shyte.

I don't care how McCain or Obama personally feel about abortion, same-sex marriage or any of the other distractions that get played by the two sides every 4 years. I care about which can lead my country to heal itself, strengthen itself, and continue to be a positive affect in the geopolitical arena.

P.S. No, I noticed your sarcasm...I was speaking to the view...not you! LOL

Lol did you take the Bravo as sarcastic or what?

It wasn't

I hate the fact that we of a "United States" actually need to go to toe on certain subjects... that, ruin dinner so to speak...

Who ever said we need to be united in how we raise our children?

Or Live?

NO, I'd be happy to let these issues ride on a state by state basis... I like Palin, I also like Alaska and Alask NEEDS Babies alot more than...oh NYC does or East LA

Success in Utah or Arizona Or Nebraska and Success in NY and California are indeed Wildly different lifestyles and the needs are very different and both of those states have Major immigration issues to contend with.

Alaska is a state where a young married couple can still homestead Land... Not exactly Miami Beach where a condo costs uowards of a Cool Million

posted on Sep, 2 2008 @ 07:26 PM

When it comes specifically to HIV/AIDS, the most important prevention is education, which should include -- which should include abstinence education and teaching the children -- teaching children, you know, that sex is not something casual. But it should also include -- it should also include other, you know, information about contraception because, look, I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby. I don't want them punished with an STD at the age of 16. You know, so it doesn't make sense to not give them information."

ONCE again...

SO if you look at the polls since PALIN....

and you think number have anything to do with the outcome...

Mccain is now down 15% in ohio from 3 days ago

Down another 2% in colorado since yesterday- total of 10% in 3 days

Down another 2% in Florida - where MC still has a hefty lead

Down a crap load in nevada ( I don't know because as of three days ago it seemed a Mccain lock so I did not pay attention) -Mccain & 53% down like- 15 -20 points in two days.

AND the BIGGEST change PER this GREAT website is VIRGINIA-
DOWN LIKE 35% in three days. A SUPER LOCK THREE DAYS AGO - today Mccain at 40%

HERE is my post from last night... the source is included.

Just so all get some perspective, I will be posting in all PALIN posts.

Okay lol... but you are dead on and the first person to say it... States laws have been butchered...

On this I would ask, because I don;t know which party would be more likely to bolster state law...
The Republican Ticket in THEORY is that party but Bush burnt everyoone so hard on that topic it isn't even funny

Obama... to me doesn't seem for a second like he is the give power to the states type...

I still have to lean to Plain, the woman who addressed (not endorsed) The Alaska Movement to leave the Union... as a True Republican in that aspect

But in the end ...

This is the dream issue that needs addressing because these debates are unwinnable

posted on Sep, 2 2008 @ 07:35 PM
It's not winnable because there are no longer 2 parties! The Republicans are as much trying to steal state power and build big government as the the Democrats. No differences short of the talking points.

None whatsoever. And the people who try every 4 years to bring back a true Republican ticket get ran out of the process by the big bucks in the "one party/different talking points" consortium.

We aint goin' no where worth takin' pictures of soon.

I don't really take much stock in polls would be curious as to where this info or disinfo is coming from.

I have no doubt as the bashing begins the polls would drop for a short time, fluctate wildly 35% sounds ridiculous particulalrly for Virginia

I'd like to check those stats out

Republicans or Neo Cons?

I do not consider Bush any kind of Republican, I thought we did fine with Reagan and then slid once King George the 1st was in office.

But, King George the 2nd was... I dunno what, an Emperor who took the crown to a new level, but nothing he did was Republican in anyway, it was veritably a takeover of Washington by a 3rd party

posted on Sep, 2 2008 @ 07:43 PM
Neocons are NOT true Republicans....they are some vile virus that has made a one party system. And the Dems have welcomed that since it gets to talking points like where the money will be spent and where the laws will be applied.

It's a mess - pretty much an abortion; a political abortion.

How can you even dare to liken an unborn child to a convicted and unrepentant criminal? The two are in no way the same.

I dare because the jurors and judges ( and police and prosecutors and witnesses) are fallible. Have no innocent people been convicted and executed? How many is too many? It seems to me that since DNA testing has advanced, we are finding out that there are quite a few innocent people in prison, including some on death row.

Between 1976 and 2003, less than 2% of death row prisoners were exonerated, while others had their sentences reduced for other reasons. This amounted to 112 prisoners released.

Since the death penalty was reinstated in Illinois in 1977, 12 men have been executed. During that same period, 13 men were freed from death row.[52] This finding prompted the outgoing governor of Illinois, Republican George H. Ryan, who had previously ordered a moratorium on executions by the state, to commute all death penalties in his state in January 2003.

Again, how many is too many? And besides the logical argument, that the innocent can be convicted and executed, how about the religious argument that,

Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

I would personally have more respect for the right to life argument if it were consistent rather than self serving and self righteous. There are those who truly do feel all life is sacred, and those who do I have deep respect for. I may not agree with them on the issue of abortion, but I respect their deeply held feelings in the matter. Those who say "right to life" for babies and "kill the jerks" for adults are logically and religiously inconsistent, and it seems pointless to argue with them.

Obama said that.

Not me.

I just repeated what he said and compared that to Gov. Palin saying she thinks her kids and her soon-to-be grandchild is a blessing, not some form of punishment.
