Did John McCain just say Republicans arent Americans?

Andrew, u are silly sometimes.
he is obviously saying that they needn't worry so much about republican or democrat, because they are all american, he is calling (lamely, i'll admit, and without a lot of conviction) on them to think in terms of being american first, and a republican 2nd.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it was pretty clear to me that what he meant by that statement, was that non-partisan support for the people of the Gulf Coast was more important than any expected and routine partisanship that comes with a political convention.
