Hi There,
Skelkie3:
Your defense of your great nation ( UK ) is admirable and expected, sir. Is it OK to call a brit... Sir? But I am reminded of a quote
from a mystery ( movie ) of some time ago: "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled, was convincing people he doesn't exist ".
The even more 'greater trick' pulled was the one where certain men throughout history have convinced many others that the Devil does exist, and not
only that old Horny exists, but that God, too, exists. Thereby supplying two deities for whom to act in ways against others supplanting the heeding to
one's own conscience. It's okay to kill in God's name or in faith of such Deity, because those whom we kill are in league with the Devil...and who
told this was a righteous act, why those whom profit from the killing.
Calling me 'sir' is fine and courteous, but truly, the epithet is something I cannot consider justified. I am no better than you, so 'friend' is
perhaps the better thought to consider me by.
All nations have fallen historically into the 'pyramidial' scheme by which they formed society. A mere few hundred have become the voices of the
many, the righteous and moral reasoners for the society that they manage for their own benefit. As Acton ruminated...."Power corrrupts, but absolute
power corrupts absolutely!" They will lie, scheme, obsfucate and disinform to retain a status quo that keeps them and their's in control. They do
not, and can be considered never to have done so, to represent the many. They rule by laws which they can easily circumnavigate, but weild to great
effect against the ordinary citizen. Their plans and agendas are not what you would normally agree to, but yet they force you to pay for their
opulence and avarice.
Here in the UK, whenever anyone reaches that auspicious age of eighteen, the way the government congratulates them is to immediately put them in debt
by £700 minimum, just for being alive...it is called Council Tax, and this minimum debt arrives around every year for the rest of their lives. So,
taking as a simple example, a person reaches eighteen years of age and lives to sixty-five years of age, they are forced to pay a minimum amount for
the priviledge of living the next 47 years of life at a total cost of £32,000-00 pound to the government. This is on top of all the other taxes such
as income tax, value-added tax, and all other manner of taxes by which the government wring work-earned money from the person. This is also, before
one pays for the other necessities in society, such as utility bills, food and clothing for the family, etc...and if there's anything left, well, one
might be able to take a holiday, or use it for some other form of entertainment which brings a little light relief from the drudgery of paying to
survive. Meanwhile, those that ensure that such an economic stranglehold is maintained, pay themselves wages whose amount deflects the hardships to
meet such payments. Woebetide you if you don't pay the money...prison is waiting for such an heinous crime. The point being, of course, does this
represent a fair society? I don't think so! Anyone, whom wants to maintain this situation does not represent me, can be no voice for me, and makes
justification for my villification of them. Society needs changing...it needs tearing down, and rebuilding to one that genuinely represents fairness
and equality...not in opportunity, but in life itself.
As Ruskin said..."There is no wealth, but life."
Best wishes
