i cant believe this is happening again. guess were just gona have to wait and see. the hurricane is going to take away allot coverage from the republican convention? just wondering what everyone thoughts are?

I believe they both have Swedish origins, actually.

And yes, I cannot believe this is happening again either. Let's hope those levees hold and that these evacuations run far more smoothly than before. My prayers are with anyone that may be in the region of this hurricane -- especially those that have no means of escaping. Terrifying stuff.

Looks like Hanna being so close ripped some of the energy out of Gustav. In the satellite image you can see the proximity of Hanna pulled off a lot of Gustav last night and brought it down to Cat 3. This also disrupted Hanna which lost a lot of its energy as well. It might not be as bad as expected now but it could restrengthen today but I do not think it will reach Cat 5 before it makes land fall.
