There are no winners in wars. Only survivors.

A better question would be how many has the US prevented?

I am Iranian and most of my family there in Iran wishes we would assassinate and or get rid of the current govt...the Idea of a full scale war though is not something that is desired off course...

they are wanting a more strategic strike...that would weaken the govt and military enough to allow for an overthrow of the govt back to how it was before Carter's rain of terror...

You mean when Iran's goverment was controlled by the US, and unlike the current publicly elected government, "democracy" didn't exist because the goverment was put in place by the US?

Back to the subject:

I have no doubt that the US will back Israel, no matter the costs. There are too many war-bent fanaticals running D.C. and too many lobby groups who will have nothing but absolute war to further their agenda.

The problem here is who will back the US? I doubt the the U.K or Germany will help, risking an overthrow of their governments by citizens who didn't want their country involved in any more wars.

Can we PLEASE stop using this bronze-age farmer's manual as anything more than a story book? ****It's retarded.****

Was that really necessary?

Regardless if you agree with the Bible, or not, hundreds of millions (billions/trillions) of your country men, your brothers and sisters, and people of other nations have died for that *book*.
The least you could do is refrain from calling it *retarded*.

...go comb your brain, your ignorance is showing...

Actually there is a chance that this recent NATO/US-Russian federation stuff will increase the chance of attack and even its date could be sooner.
If Russia will start supplying modern anti aircraft defenses then Israel will be faced with using only diplomatic channels to prevent Iranian nuclear weapons (what it is trying now with little success) or striking earlier - while those systems are not deployed/personnel not trained.
And in my opinion Russia will use this Israeli strike to gain a lot of points -diplomatic, economical, strategical. But it will not oppose it. However if US will invade on the ground as a response to Iranian answering strike - might be ugly stuff. But as it is now - Russia hopes for Israeli strike. Oil - prices up. Their own coalition - created. Possible crack between US and EU. Iranian money for rebuilding its nuclear and military capacity. Only gains.

Zero. You're living in Israel. Honestly, do you still buy this, Iran want nuke bombs story? Come on! First. They have the right to advance with the ages and have their own nuclear power plant. Second. Everyone knows in the EU and the US, this they want nukes story is a complete bogus story, such as the WMDs of Iraq. Why don't you wake up? Before you would say, but the Iranian President said, they'll wipe Israel from the face of the planet, I tell you, he said, the Zionist regime will fail from the inside and if something not changes, Israel will destroy herself. As we experienced, the Iranian President is right, because Barak and the Zionists are living days with the lowest support what they ever had. And also he was right, that Israel will destroy itself, because right now Israel is the most unsupported nation on the planet. The civilians, many governments are against you because of many things what your government did in the last years. They were good in one thing, to create enemies for you.

Don't provoke Iran, give some liberty for the Palestinians and you don't need to afraid. Let me remind you, Israel is not a large country at all. And foremost it's not invincible at all. If you make an attack, count for the effect, which will be great retaliation, which will follow the cause. And also, if Iran really would want to wipe out Israel, they would already do that, i.e., when you fought in Lebanon and left Israel undefended.

And also meditate that you really want to attack. In the last year, you needed to keep only Iran in front of you. Now you will have to keep an eye on Iran, Russia and the Asian countries. Iran is supported Russian actions in St. Ossetia and they'll get the same support back for exchange.

Well, i am feeding on local media, of course. And it is of course biased due to its sources /owners. But i personally think that there is a nukes being developed for following reasons:
1) Israel has no apparent reason for a strike in Iran. Iran (unlike, say,Egypt) never directly attacked Israel and vice versa. Until ayatollah revolution there were great relationships between two countries. There were a lot of mutual projects. Old versions of current Iranian rockets were developed with Israeli help (ironic,ha?). All this because Iran and Israel are "isolated" in the region. Iran - because it is Shiite country, Israel- for other reasons. So current Israeli strike - that is been considered and threats are thrown between the sides - has no purpose if there are no solid proves of weapon-oriented program. Hell, we even get oil and more importantly - pistachio from Iran. What will we do without pistachio?

2) Arab (Sunni) nations around Iran are very worried too. If it is peaceful energy program - why do they care so much?
3)(sort of 1) If Israel attacks it will loose a lot. Not a single advantage. So if it is considered - then there must be info about military potential of the program. Info could be false. But could be true.
Which brings me to this - i really do not think we should interfere in other country business if it is about to develop nukes or not. Eventually this region will become nuclear - if Israel wants it or not. It is not going to bomb Egypt or Saudi Arabia. But there is a huge difference between Egypt (and even Saudis) and Iran with current leadership. Those guys are religious fanatics. Do you know that Mao (ideological fanatic) suggested Soviets to start nuclear conflict because there are going to be more communists who will survive then capitalists? I do not want fanatics (of any kind) who constantly throw hidden/not so hidden threats and via proxies attack my country to have their finger over the button. You say that those are not threats - but it is. Imagine if Bush will start saying that Russian regime is about to fall because it is weak , and suddenly start investing in new star wars program. Russia will not feel threatened?
As i said in previous posts (not in this thread) - i do not want Israel to attack. Rockets will fall on my head too,not only on Iranian nuclear facilities. A lot of innocent people in both countries will die. Both countries will suffer and region will become even less stable. But it is still better then getting one rocket with nuke from Iranian-operated Hizballah.( Israel is small country as you said). And Israel sending dozens of nukes in response on other people who personally did nothing wrong to me is not going to make me feel any better (understatement).

At least you seems to be an honest Israeli. And I'm really glad for this, because until this moment I didn't met with any (Sorry, no offense. It's my personal experience.). Until this time, when I read the comments and articles at ynet or at other places, met with Israelis personally and most of them supported the war and I saw that they don't even have a real clue what would that attack start. They advertised and waited destruction. They just want war, war, war, war, war and war, because they believe they have the right to interfere into the evolution of another country. Okay. Maybe I don't know anything, but right now, the world is seeing Israel and the U.S. is intending to attack a country, which didn't made anything at all. It's the same scenario which was in Iraq. WMDs was there. Yeah, right. Where? No one saw any WMDs at all. The people have bought this once, but they're not going to buy this twice.

Well. I hope we will be able to avoid any world war, because my country is in the former Eastern Block, which is usually in the crossfire, when hell brakes out. The U.S. is on the west, Russia is on the east. So our chances maybe the same what Israel has if a world war brakes out.

warning military action will very likely be taken against Iran in the event diplomatic efforts to stop them gaining nuclear capability fail.

Diplomacy is joke and failed a long time ago. It's why Iran continued enriching weapons-grade Uranium and developed Centrifuges the last few years while these rediculous threats of sanctions had no merit whatsoever.

Nuclear weopons are not the main reason for any form of attack/invasion. Try Iran wanting euros for oil instead of dollars. Irak tried that and guess what happened... Nuclear development is the false flag operation.

here is a summary :
"The petrodollar system is no different than the gold standard. Today’s currency is simply underwritten by the one vital source of energy upon which every industrialized society depends—oil. If the dollar is de-linked from oil; it will no longer serve as the de-facto international currency and the US will be forced to reduce its massive trade deficits, rebuild its manufacturing capacity, and become an export nation again. The only alternative is to create a network of client regimes who repress the collective aspirations of their people so they can faithfully follow directives from Washington. "

I just read a blog about gold and it's effects on current history. It seems that the US aquired most of the worlds mined gold, after WWII. And our currency, even after the seperation from gold, became a world currency. It still is. Problem now is that this gold is being 'loaned' out, on a new deception twist by the US government. They can have no gold, but claim they do based on their receipts for 'loaning' it out. The US has enough oil to last us a thousand years, BUT the Communist Democratic Party has stopped all drilling and use of that oil. This is resulting in a huge fight in Congress, with the Communist Democrats turning out the lights on the Socialist Rebumblicans who refused to leave on their three month(?) paid vacation, until the oil problem was resolved. Now Pelosi is caving under the pressure of MANY signed petitions demanding she renege. She is actually listening to her constituents! Amazing. Noone else in government gives a hoot.
Trade deficits; a huge lie. We take in TEN TIMES (before the oil scam) more money than we spend overseas. We were the manufacturer for the world, post WWII. No longer. Now, we invent, we manage, we create, we make movies and songs. We use our heads, not our hands. We have 6% of global population, and 56% of world wealth. Why? Did we steal it? Hardly. We earned it. Which is not to say that many of the US actions have not been dishonest, and theft. But the preponderance of that wealth was honest. The 'elite', like al Baraq Obama bin Biden, don't like us peons to have any money, so they are surreptitiously taking it away thru frauds like the AMA, the ADA, big oil, auto manufacturing, and a host of other very dishonest businesses. And they are using 'their' government who really don't give a hoot about law. Not the politicians, not the lawyers, not the judges, and certainly not the thugs who call themselves 'law enforcement'. If the law were observed, those thugs would all be in prison because they consider themselves above the law, and carry out crimes with the blessing and direction of their criminal organizations. And, right now, they are above the law. So yes, we do need to clean up our own house, but with the power to stop or prevent abuses of power worldwide, we would be accomplices if we allowed them to commit their barbaric acts. At least, ours are usually more subtle. Even the demons pretend to be angels.

Well here we go....

MOSCOW (AP) — The Russian state-run company building Iran's first nuclear plant said Monday that preparations for the reactor's launch had entered their final stage.

Atomstroiexport chief Leonid Reznikov said that by year's end the company will take steps that will make the launch of the Bushehr plant "irreversible."

Company spokeswoman Irina Yesipova said the launch date will be determined after talks between Russian and Iranian nuclear officials this month.

Iranian officials have said that Bushehr would be launched this fall.

Associated Press

And in response;

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will discuss Iran's nuclear program at a special meeting of senior ministers on Wednesday, officials said.

Israeli Radio said government officials were concerned by reports that Iran's Bushehr nuclear power station was nearing completion.

Think on the below and Get on your Knees and Pray for mercy!
So it just a question of timing now, and with the recent reports in the Dutch, and German Papers of a time frame of 3-4 weeks,
the build up in the gulf,
and Georgia,
USA incursions into Pakistan and the killing of civilians, with the internal turmoil therein,
a Dead Nuclear Dictator in North Korea and a puppet unknown leader,
a World superpower leader shooting tigers, and posing Bare Chested like a Gay Pin Up whilst re astablishing strategic nuclear flights,
no sunspots like for ever,
mad scientists about to try and put a whole new and ever expanding universe in a bottle,
a pope wearing red Prada shoes,
a leader of the USA whose grandfather was a Nazi ,
oh and it does seem very likely alien life forms have been engaged by our countries in a aggressive way

Im no evangelical, not even a Christian or believe in one seperate god, Monotheism, but I still feel like shouting out loud!

All I can think now is I repent.

Worried Regards,

Elf.
