you have to laugh at CNN's blatant liberalism

i like to watch both CNN and fox news because i like seeing the obvious left and right swing of media. but you had to laugh when john mccain announced the VP today. CNN did probably a 3 minute segment on it and went right back to talking about the stupid tropical storm.. however when obama chose his VP and made his speech it was the only thing CNN showed for a week straight. when i turned to fox news it seemed they had the same amount of coverage on obama's VP pick as mccain's. but i just had to laugh when CNN did a tiny segment on it cuz they felt it is an "obama only" election

Not only that, but the media has already started smearing her. Calling her inexperienced and questioning her choice to run as VP "with a down syndrome child". I mean, its almost unbelievable. You would think all the people here who "deny ignorance" would be up in arms, but it appears their ok with it as long as it advances their agenda.

Its just such a stark contrast to the way they cover Obama. If you cant see the bias now, you're blind.

I've been watching CNN this afternoon. You're right they did start a little slow on the McCain VP thing, but I think it's also cause everyone was/is a little confused and surprised with it and definitely not prepared with analysis/bio/research. Anyway, they're on it now, and the storm is a pretty big story in light of today being Katrina's anniversary, the republicans are thinking about changing the dates for their convention as a result.
But if you feel slighted by their coverage that's fine too.

Its like I said earlier. Here you have a person with a blue collar background, who has previously worked a blue collar job in the fishing industry, who has no ties to Washington DC, but has somehow found herself in the running for the 2nd highest office in the land.

Isn't this what people have been calling for? A complete outsider to the DC establishment? Here she is. This is what people said they wanted. So why all the crying and whining?

It says an awful lot about those people, IMO. All they see is an (R) next to her name, and its 'oh hell no'. Who cares who she is, what she believes, what she stands for or where she's been? They didn't know who Sarah Palin was before this morning and know even less than that about her, but oooooohhhhhh...she's a nasty ol' Republican. Gotta rip her to shreds.

Its really pathetic.

I noticed the same thing on my CNN mobile news.

They ran the story with probably the most unflattering photo they could find of Palin. You know, the kind of photo with her mouth open in mid-sentence, making her look menacing.

Of course they've had weeks to prepare for this story, and of all people in the race, Palin's not bad to look at. So what other conclusion can one draw other than their intention is to make her first impression to the public be a bad one?

Its thew fact the media treats everything Obama does as if it were done by Jesus himself, that he can do no wrong. Yet, when its McCain they treat everything with skepticism and try and spin everything as some sort of scandal. Its a direct result of the media being completely in the tank for a democrat victory.

She seems an intelligent, strong, principled, accomplished woman. Good for her for getting picked.
The only people whining today so far as I can tell are Republicans unhappy with the pick.

As far as CNN is concerned, why even watch it if you think it's too pro-Obama. You have Fox news as a direct PR feed to the Republican party.

Unhappy? Are you kidding? Republicans and conservatives are thrilled with this pick. I am. This is the first thing in this whole election cycle that has really fired up conservatives. He knocked this one out of the park with us.

Is asking for people to give her a fair chance somehow wrong? Because that's all I'm doing.

CNN talked about her child born with down syndrome and whether or not she'll be able to be VP with a child who has DS. I think she looks like a great VP and I am looking forward to seeing her speak next week at the RNC.

This is the first time in a long time that I've been happy about something McCain has done.

Whether or not you agree with their policies or not, the Republicans have shown that they are still far ahead of the Dems in terms of strategic planning to win an election.

Obama/Clinton or Obama/Biden?

This is the worst pick McCain could have made. His only chance in this election was to convince enough voters that "experience," is a critical factor. Now, with the selection of Palin to the ticket he had rendered that issue dead.

He just cost himself the election because he and his campaign panicked over Obama's speech last night. They never expected him to go after McCain the way he did.

They panicked, pure and simple.

I don't think it completely insulates Obama in terms of the experience issue.

The overwhelming majority of people are still going to vote based upon the top of the ticket. While McCain may not be able to attack him overtly, it is something that the average voter will still weigh on election day. People don't usually vote for or against a VP, even though they can provide some degree of influence.

This is still primarily a battle between McCain and Obama.

Lol... you sound like a scared child trying to convince himself that there really are no monsters under his bed.

You have it completely backwards.

The first criticism the Dems will make of Palin is that she's inexperienced. This will be reflected back onto Obama in about 3/10s of a second. You will see ads of Dems, who instinctively will attack Palin's inexperience. But the ads will be McCain's, and the ads will ask who the Dems are referring to? Obama or Palin?

This was a brilliant strategic move. Absolutely perfect in terms of strategy, timing, and demographics.

OH... and I almost forgot an important point. Obama's lack of experience may be the least of his worries. If his inexperience is no longer an issue, he will be forced to defend his socialist-leaning policies, which will turn off even more voters.

Obama will WISH the debate were about his experience.
