CAIRO- An Arabic newspaper is reporting today (Thursday) that the United States, Japan, Italy, Britain and Australia have been named as possible next targets. The London-based Al-Quds al-Arabi website indicated it had received a statement from "The Brigade of Abu Hafs al-Masri (al-Qaida)" that verified its claimed responsibility for the 3/11 train bombing in Madrid, and named next targets.

Netscape.CNN.co m The editor of Al-Quds al-Arabi, Abdel Bari Atwan, told The Associated Press the paper received the statement via e-mail Wednesday night. The paper has received other e-mails from this group. On the evening of the Madrid bombings, the paper released an e-mail from Abu Hafs al-Masri in which they made the first claim of responsibility. Its just on the news that they have arrested 4 more in connection with the train bombings they can find out more from these people and start to make more arrests.

Three were picked up in the Madrid suburb from where three of the four bombed trains started one week ago; a fourth was detained in the north. Two of the new detainees are Moroccans, judicial sources said. Five of those already in custody are due to face hearings in the High Court in Madrid.

I believe that the US subway system may very well be a prime target for terroist attacks, even though Homeland Security would have you think and feel differently, as stated above the US is claerly indicated as a target. Whats Tom Ridge gonna say should an attack occur on a US subway system, after stating we have one of the most safest systems in the world?
