And Hillary supporters were already polling at 20% for McCain BEFORE Palin was named the VP. I doubt that number is going to drop.

And you're forgetting that Obama pissed off the voters in Ohio and Pennsylvania already. Palin is a perfect fit to win these blue collar, white, soccer mom states.

Even if McCain doesn't win Pennsylvania, which he doesn't have to, he now is forcing Obama to spend time and money in PA.

And we haven't even gotten into discussing Michigan yet. Obama dissed Michigan by taking his name off the ballot there. He dissed Florida too.

People are thirsty for change. Obama WAS change six months ago. Now that he picked Biden, he's status quo. McCain now owns the word "change," not Obama.

It really doesn't matter who the candidates are. No one I know ever votes FOR someone; they always vote AGAINST the opposing ideology.

Like they used to say: Democrats would vote for a Yellow dog if it was a democrat.

It also works both ways.

I don't believe there is really any such thing as a "Swing voter"

OK guys, here's the deal. The board is VERY busy and there are less than 20 staffers on right now. If you see something on the board in the future like what everyone was complaining about on the board a couple pages back, use the Complains/Suggestions function in your Member Center and we will see it a lot quicker.

Lol, you call her inexperienced, barry is from my state, he is an idiot and only won by default. 4 years as a law maker who skipped voting 122 times and only voted present.

She has been mayor and is now governer of a state, not some lackey law maker. She is stronger than blowhard joe and barry combined.

It's almost comical watching Dems squirm in desperation today. They know Obama should have picked Hillary. If he did, he was a lock. They know that McCain's selection of Palin was THE perfect strategic choice with the perfect strategic time to pull the rug out from under Obama.

Now they are reduced to criticizing Palin for her pronunciation. Let's stack that up against Biden's shameful resignation from the Presidential race for being caught lifting entire passages from another politician's speech, even down to fabricating a more interesting life story.

There is a saying, "Pride comes before the fall..." Obama will become the poster child for this expression. His failure to pick Hillary as VP opened this door for McCain. Unless Biden drops out and is replaced by Hillary, Obama stands little chance of winning.

I was purely undecided. I will probably be leaning more towards McCain as a result of his VP pick of Sarah Palin for several reasons.

1. She took on a corrupt republican administration and in the face of much opposition and won.
2. She has an over 80% approval rating in Alaska. This is a testimony to her character on the job in executive experience.
3. I've decided to start voting the party line thanks to a post I read by Donwhite. Her values fall in line with mine.
4. Her extreme understanding of energy issues is important to me as a consumer. No one can deny that most of the United States desires to drill.

The more I think about it after this VP pick I truly think I will have to vote for McCain.

I am only putting forth my own observations as a spectator. She is a Bush clone in all of her stances, and yes she did say NEW Q LER...which is a Bushism that has been around for over a decade.

Can't anyone make points in a political discussion without choosing a side? I am stating my own personal opinion, I am not selling it is the gospel truth. Just my own opinion and nothing more.

Found another piece of shady info on Palin (kinda makes me rethink my "she has very strong ethics comment):

Apparently, unhappy with the Creamery Board's decision to close down the Matanuska Maid Dairy, and after learning that the state agriculture board could appoint creamery board members, she simply replaced the entire agriculture board with all new members that sided with her. The reversed the creamery board's decision to close down the plant.

Now, she did have good reason to not want to close the plant down, but the way she went about it, IMO, was wrong. This is the kind of shady politics I am not a fan of.

Kind of like firing attorney generals because they don't agree with you and replace them with ones that do.

Yeah- and there have been politicians who fought child pornography and prostitution who later get busted for the same thing.

I am impressed with the choice here. She fills in the gaps of conservatism where McCain was lacking. And to the ones worries about their economic package, they have these folks called "advisors" whos job it is to come up with great ideas to make them look good to the public. Every president has em. PALMER -- A newly composed state agriculture board Tuesday threw out members of a creamery board overseeing the Matanuska Maid dairy, installed itself as the creamery board and canceled a decision to shutter the state-owned company.

The whirlwind turnabout came during a packed, five-hour meeting. It followed Gov. Sarah Palin's wholesale firing over the weekend of the previous agriculture board members.
