Certainly an interesting shape, but the problem I have with this one (which is the problem I have with many such images):

Why the odd shape? I understand that alien technology and engineering would probably indeed, seem alien to us, but that shape is just not "building friendly." I doubt it's ours at any rate, if it were man-made, as our military is NOT known for their artistic architecture. If we had a base there, it would be very functional, and I'm fairly certain, square or rectangle.

It's not straight. What I mean is: zoom in to 400% or so. Look at the walls. They are irregular. Now, I suppose they could have degraded over time, but I'd think a structure that intact, would still have its walls solidly in place. The walls are NOT straight, there are dips, weird angles and curves.. you probably couldn't find a human made structure that looks like that if you tried. Of course, again, it could be very alien, but it seems like an even more advanced civilization would be able to manage straight lines. Heck, it probably would be difficult to make something that irregular, unless you were using clay or something as your building material.

Finally, what an odd place to build something. We typically on our planet, do not attempt to build in the most inaccesible places. That doesn't seem like the most friendly terrain to build something. And there are no roads, or other nearby structures. Again, like all the others I have seen, it stands alone.

Also, simply because something does resemble a man-made structure, doesn't make it one. I am willing to concede it might indeed, by something man-made, even if I am a bit skeptical (man I'd kill for a very clear picture of something). I wonder if those that think it's a base or some-such are willing to accept it might just be a natural structure that looks man-made.

Does anyone have any ideas about size? For instance, the object which has the circle on top of it, how big is that? Are we talking truly huge such as miles long, or are we saying this is a similar size to a building here on Earth. . ?

I have to confess that when i read the title on this thread i thought oh joy another crackpot thread. HOWEVER on looking at tjhe pictures i am going to keep an open mind. This looks too geometrical for my taste to be a natural feature. Somehting is not right. Could be an illusion but it just does not look like it. I guess the only way we are gonna know is by sending humans to Mars (offically), But what if it is a remanant of an old civilisation long dead? It may not be "us" after all!! I would find that more exciting to be honest, And if NASA were to come out of the closet then i think this is the line they will take. They sure as heck not gonna say oh we have stuff up there now!

My mind is open on this. Until we actually go there in person i will record an open verdict on this.

That's what makes this anomaly so fascinating. If it were just one, seemingly, 90º angle - that's one thing. If it were two, it may raise an eyebrow. Three and I'd say there's need for closer examination. But, the fact that there appears to be several 90º angles in one spot makes it very suspect to me.

Could any of you skeptics take the original pic and find what appears to be 90º angles elsewhere in the picture? If so, how close are they to other 90º angles?

can anyone tell me please, if there is another "alternative 3" aside from the UK hoax broadcast from decades back?

Well if this is a global surveyor image its interesting, But I highly doubt its a building the scale of the building would make it larger than most us cities to be seen from space with that clarity unless of course what looks like a mountain range in the pictures is acually small hills

Zorgon as usual you are doing a great job of bringing forth these images. Mike and Airmap you guys are impressive also.

If you think this is good stuff you should see what is within Mars. Star and flag from me not that you need it your already great.

Yes i appreciate that, the way i used it wasn't me saying "omgz your an idiot" or anything it was to show the reaction of some people on this board and to be honest i can think of plenty of threads i've seen on this site that 'cheapen' the website more than 'z'.
