Given Code Pink's reputation and their documented tactics, including harassing Marine recruiters, the benefit of the doubt goes to the police and frankly, that's the most heartwarming video I've seen in a long time.

My God...what kind of statement is that? I don't care what you didnt see happen before hand...I really dont it did NOT warrant that type of abuse. If that cop was in the right they would have arrested her right away. Instead they stood back and reflected for a bit because they KNEW they were wrong!

Since when is it ok for cops to where masks to hide there faces anyway? Oh and those Marine slime bag recruiters you are talking about are nothing but sick car salesman talking our children into going to war!!!

WTF is wrong with some people now days? Is it a bootlicking disease that is going around? Seriously things are getting so weird when you have people like Grady defending abuse because of the group it was directed at.

Grady I have PLENTY of room to talk too. I risk my butt everyday I work with cops everyday. This was NOT police work it is TERRORISM!!

That was a woman and her head whiplashed into the ground. She does NOT have the physical structure to withstand such a thing. At ONE time MEN would be horrified that another man could do something like THAT.

Star and Flag!

I so love you guys over there in the U.S.!

I'm so worried about you guys over there as well! And we are worried for us!

Its not that other countries hate America! Its other countries, hate your govenment, which reflects to you guys!

Because, its what YOU do, which will affect us!

Its like other countries are saying, FIGHT! We need you to! And when we see you not fighting, we are appauled at the blindness of so many!

God love you guys, we need you to fight!

Her, whom was hit, was me as well as you! Do you understand!

Actually if you listen closely, what she actually said was "I'm not gonna do it again".

More proof of police brutality.......Gets worse every day.

Wouldn’t simple arrest work for this clobbered lady if she had broken a law – such as disobeying a lawful order? In this case arrest seems more humane.

I also wonder how many law enforcement 'contractors' are working the DNC?

Final point - the USAF general in charge of NORAD and Northern Command (?) was on C-span mentioning their logistic support somehow unifying law enforcement at the DNC. I wonder if they have an online team monitoring video posts such as this – or blog reaction to them.

The politicians and CEOs chuckle at the scene unfolding below…..

Rocky Mountain News excerpt:

Code Pink protester shown on video being shoved to the ground by a police officer's baton and later hauled away remains in jail on a charge of interfering with an arrest but should be released tonight, Code Pink officials say.

Alicia Forrest was arrested outside Civic Center Park after confronting officers and asking them questions about another arrest they were making, said Sally Newman, legal liaison and spokeswoman for the group.

"She was one of a number of people trying to find out where this person was being taken," Newman said. "They just arrested her along with him."

The video shows an officer quickly shoving Forrest with the length of his baton, forcing her to the ground with a smack. Later, as she was speaking with reporters, the video shows police coming behind her and dragging her away.

SNIP

Code Pink posted a $500 bail for Forrest, and the group expects her to be released in four to six hours, Newman said.

Dont know if this was posted elsewhere? Enjoy

Did the end of that video look strange o anyone - the small cops closing the circle after the abduction? The ease with which the woman went with the police snatcher. Just wondering.

** nothing strange after further viewing - other than the two female (?)officers closing ranks up front for more beat'ns.

If this video has outraged you, any of you, please think about what you plan to do about it. Don't tell us about it because more words aren't gonna solve anything at this point obviously. Just think about it.... Watching videos like this makes me glad I am not there.... because I am the wrong type.

Just stop being afraid of the pigs. Your fear gives them power. Their power is oppressing us.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward.
Whoever cannot take care of themselves without that law is both.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant,
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.'
Such is the rule of honour.

It's things like this that can make me see anational conspiracy.
You can't get better propoganda than this. We see just enough to completly blacklist the cops, and praise the gal getting knocked down, no questions asked about the preceding moments.
People shaking their fists and roaring, just like good what cha macallits.
Anyone else notice how forumalic most of the replys in that vein are?
Seriously, don't get me wrong, there are downright tard cops, there are also cops who do their job, either just going through it, or doing their best. Guess which ones make the headlines.
Code Pink DOES have a history, they've made their press release, we'll see what happens.
In the spirit of "Denying Ignorance", I request taking about five seconds before giving a knee jerk.
Do I still think the cop over reacted? Yeah. But to me, several posts here are just as scary.
We can find out who he is. Demand a investigation, get more video, get his testimony, get hers, get a balanced investigation. Or knee jerk it.

To bad none of the protestors had guns. It looked to me that that one at least had the right to defend herself against an illegal action by a corrupt agent of the government. More people need to stand up and return the violence that is inflicted on them by these type of police actions. Peaceful protest is a joke. Violence is the only thing they understand. Peaceful protest is always met with violence by police agencies.

Using violence against cops is really never going to get anyone anywhere, just in more #.
Especially if its a "riot" scenario.

I support the police in this situation, she probably deserved, or did something to intimidate, threaten or provoke the officer just before the start of the video.

Physical contact. Hasn't it been law or something that physical contact receives... Stronger physical contact?

This isn't the theft of freedom. It's the simply ignorants of going up to a cop's face.

If you're going to protest, you don't walk up to the man with a big stick. You hold your sign/audio/etc and stay put.

Besides, these are the same folks who barge in on congress and conventions.

They're asking for it.

There are always reasons, and we usually only see the "reaction". Take Rodney King, and notice how the fact he was crazed out of his mind on drugs became a mute issue. But then, how many times AFTER that incident has he been arrested or in jail? Yah, a real model citizen there for sure.

I don't like protesters that get in my way, such as the bike freaks in SF. Now, you have cities like Berkeley that are run by absolute sissy morons. Let me ask you, do you know why there has not been another protest at the Oakland port? I'll tell you why. Wooden bullets hurt. A city must ENFORCE the law, and not let it's people run the show.

Berkeley needs to man up and go cut some trees down, and hopefully take some "Code Stink" freaks with the tree freaks. They are a complete laughing stock around here, and four of my neighbors work at UC Berkeley, and they are ashamed to even admit they have to work in that town. Too bad we can't give the military some CS Gas and Bean Bag guns to make room for recruit parking!

Chicka chika yah!

WELL, I'm not sure. People should be allowed to speak their minds, but not to do as they wish. Yes, this sounds contradictory and almost fascistic, but put it this way: It's ok to allow someone to speak of murder, but it is not ok to allow them to do it.

"I'm going to push a Woman Today", A short story by '___'eed.

I woke up today with Cheetos in my belly button and the dukes of hazard DVD menu playing on the 10 inch portable tv. "Damn i love that show" I said to myself.

I noticed the red bull on the coffee table, I shook it, and there was some left. "Just my luck, being a conservative pays off". The phone rang, I picked up.

Before the first word hit my ear I could tell it was my mother. It is a distinct sound- its a mix between a screeching cat and a 747. She was yelling at me for not calling her last Sunday.

I started to clothes myself and looked in the mirror, "You are badd ass.." I whispered. My wife busted down the door and said "You lazy bastard, you said you were going to make Karen breakfast this morning. "More yappy di yap" I cant get away from it.

I take a crap while reading the "Taze" magazine, a magazine for and by crowd control specialists. I wipe my self with my hunting knife and try to get out the door as soon as possible. While I leave I hear my daughter saying "I hate you daddy!". I guess she was mad at me for not making those waffles.

If she only knew how hard it is to be an asshole, she would understand.

------------------------------------------------------Hours later.

GET OUTFFF!!!!!!

BACK UP!!!!!!
