Colored symbols in the sky above las vegas

My guess will be a high powered lamp mobile projector or a starfield projector using color lasers. Perhaps randy johnson could tell us.

My story is related to this only in that it happened in Vegas...

I was living in that city until 1999, and in...I think it was in 1998...on the same day, I discovered that the clocks in both my cars were off one by about 3ish hours (like 3 hours, 12 minutes) and the other was 5ish hours (something like 5 hours, 26 minutes).

This intrigued me so I started asking friends and coworkers about the clocks in their cars - and about 25% of them said the clock in their car HAD shifted - by as little as 45 minutes to as much as 8 hours (minus four hours, I suppose).

So Vegas has some weird goings-on, I tell you what.

I never even thought of the correlation between the dream and the sky. That gave me chills.

- Well, Noone has showed up with any pictures yet. But I will definitely keep everyone informed on this.

- The video of the laser show definitely resembled the symbols the closest... However, there were every combination of the color spectrum. Each symbol was a different color.

- And you are absolutely right, with all the light pollution (especially on the strip) I can see how there'd be no visble light trail if it were being projected.

- No, they were unwavering, unmoving (completely still, and I mean, like a rock) the lights were solid, and uniform.. The only thing I can say that wasn't completely normal was that the symbols were kind of sporatically placed within the oval.. Not systematic whatsoever. Almost looked like they were stamped randomly...

- I am so thankful you guys don't think i'm a nutbag. This has been such a wild week for me with all this on my mind!

- Also, I worked last night, on the patio, and saw absolutely nothing.

Drawing the symbols in the sand is supposed to lure the symbols to return in the sky??? How about dump that whole idea and try to find out what the symbols mean in the first place. Every symbol has a meaning.. But it can also be different to different people. However language through symbols is a great idea that has been used by NASA in hopes of contacting alien civilizations...And if you can understand what the symbols mean TOGETHER then you will understand the message.

Interestingly, in a NASA SETI program booklet (dated from 1979), it is suggested that signals in the form of "symbols" would be fundamental to communication with other intelligent civlizations..

NASA's SETI program was cancelled a long time ago.. But it just goes to show that the idea is completely plausible that this is some intelligent civilization trying to communicate..

Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 missions sent up by NASA a generation ago carried gold plated records with sounds and images from earth on them. Etched on the plates was an interesting series of symbols. You can see that image HERE

As far as the OP's experience..
The bigger question I would ask is WHY those symbols, WHY at that location? To understand that the symbols need to be understood.. And since we don't have all the symbols we don't have any way of knowing what they meant. But it is interesting. Hypothetically, that part of the U.S. is lit up like a Christmas tree(at least at night from space) and perhaps this location was chosen because of this.. WHO KNOWS.

I believe the OP really saw something. I have seen a few strange things in my day too.. So I know something real is going on with UFO's... But just because symbols start appearing in the sky doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't have a very normal explanation.

on that David Caron video there seems to be a slight clicking whenever a symbol appears...look around 3:50 and turn the volume up..

Before I get started on this one, first let me point out that if true, this happened in Las Vegas, home to a billion lights and a million ads, glitz and glitter abound and this could have EASILY been related to advertising or some other display.




No offense meant but this thought process only happens in books.. no one questions themselves this way. "fearing I was overtired and delerious " ... you see it or you don't.

(of course, 100 people will post to argue that point now...)

You being a bartender, I assume have no experience in lighting technologies, atmospheric effect of light, bending, or anything of than nature but you are stating that there weree no light sources underneath.

Correct me if I am wrong but Pure is in Ceasars Palace on the second or third floor surrounded by huge buildings.. so...

How could you know it was not being sourced from below??

That you had not noticed a light beam or other projection device doesn't mean it isn't there. From your vantage poiint it would be impossible to see unless it was on the dance floor or open patio itself.


I don't mean to pick on you, but this is just another posts that distracts from the real stuff.

I was wondering if I could clarify some information?

From reading your descriptions of the symbols I have deduced the following:

1. There were 15-20 symbols.

2. They appeared in an oval / rounded square shape about where you work.

3. Each symbol was different but you remember a few shapes, which you have drawn for us on page 1.

4. Each symbol was of a different 'primary' colour. My understanding is that these were all different colours and static, i.e. not changing. (not the three 'Primary Colours' as in, yellow blue and red.)

5. It was the middle of the night and there were a few clouds.

6. Lots of people saw the same thing.

7. The symbols faded/retreated and went after about 20 minutes.

8. From your drawings, it seems the symbols were quite geometric, not fluid like certain languages.

9. They were not attached to a body or object, they seemed to be projected in some way.

Could you confirm these statments? Or if I have something wrong, please tell me.

Also, if your boss or anyone else you know who saw them could remember other shapes and get them posted it would help =)

hehe Anyway, back to the topic here, after seeing the imbeded video someone posted here on what people are doing with lasers these days. It seems plausible that given the location on the Vegas strip, access to a myriad eyes, and comments from other people regarding similar advertising stints they've seen all over Vegas, I'm sort of leaning toward effects produced by laser(s) here. Whether they are from Project Bluebeam or whatever, it seems to tilt in that direction.

I don't think I'm dismissing the OPs claims as she has even said she's doubtful of any sort of 'real sighting' here. It comes across as very anti-climatic given the reaction of the other people that saw these symbols that night, and how this never made other news. I think people are becoming more desensitized to these types of things nowadays.

i tried to find a ufo case file where alien symbols were written in a cave in brazil. 40 years later a man was at home and noticed a ufo over his house, so close he went back into the kitchen and wrote them down, and to many UFOLOGISTS surprise these symbols matched. BUT i could find the photos on line sorry,

I'm not sure how related this is but since it involved mysterious colored lights in the sky I thought I'd offer it up again. I originally posted this here back in 2006. The event occured in the late 70's. I'd be extremely interested if anyone knows of a similar experience:

But I would like to add that I too just read Amber's blog on SG and that dream you had is very, very eerie.

You also say that everyone in your dream was "claiming to see the thing hovering". That is also intriguing given that, in regards to the Stephenville lights, they claimed to see a mile wide craft hovering in the sky.

I think this may be what caused your symbols , there must be a few of these in Vegas.
