MOSCOW, Aug 26, (Thomson Financial) - Russia is not afraid of a new Cold War taking hold and is ready for "anything," Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday in a television interview.
"We're not afraid of anything (including) the prospect of a Cold War.
Asked whether Russia was ready for the consequences of recognising Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Medvedev said: "If they want to preserve good relations with Russia, they will understand the reason for taking such a decision and the situation will be calm."

All I can say to that is...great.
Finally we have a country who isn't going to get down on its knees for America.

I'm also glad the Bear is out of hibernation. It may give the Americans some hesitations before they continue their plans to take over the world.

So, now which country is most likely to have world domination objectives?
We're not afraid of anything (including) the prospect of a Cold War.

Well when you come back to the 21st century and get up to date with the world politics you may comprehend where I'm coming from.
Funny enough, although off-topic, some years ago I saw a poll where most Americans pointed to Russia or Canada when asked to point the United States on a map, and they did it because they thought the US was the bigger country in the world.

What is the largest country in the world? Russia.
Aren't you confusing Russia with Soviet Union? Those things were made by the Soviet Union, not Russia.
What did russia do with all the countries it "liberated" during World War II? Turned them into totalitaritarian puppet states (warsaw pact) based on the russian model. It took an additional 50 years for most of those countries to actually become liberated, and obviously russia still has dreams and plans to get them all back.
What did russia do when one of the warsaw pact countries decided to try and go their own way? Sent the russian army to those countries to crush any opposition. Hungary and Czechoslovakia are examples.
I saw the articles since the beginning, even those that said that Georgia started it all by sending rockets to South Ossetia.
What is russia still doing when a puppet state attempts to break away? Same as before - see all the articles about their Georgia invasion and occupation.

Have no doubt, I truly know where you are coming from.
Your comment about "coming back to the 21st century" is ridiculous and naive by the admission of another russian sycophant here on this thread that the Soviet Union's leaders never really left the scene ...
How about not dooming all of us to repeat that brutal soviet history because some either forgot or never learned the history of the soviet union in the first place?

Isn't it strange how American leaders proclaimed victory in Vietnam, Korea, the 'cold war' and Iraq and how non of it turned out to be actual victories? Anyone starting to spot a trend yet or do you think the US is deploying F-22's and a a new generation of hunter submarines and strike aircraft to fight OBL?
