AT&T thanks the Blue Dog Democrats with a lavish party

Last night in Denver...AT&T threw a lavish, private party for Blue Dog House Democrats, virtually all of whom blindly support whatever legislation the telecom industry demands and who also, specifically, led the way this July in immunizing AT&T and other telecoms from the consequences for their illegal participation in the Bush administration's warrantless spying program.

those who dictate the nation's laws (the largest corporations and their lobbyists) cavorting in total secrecy with those who are elected to write those laws (members of Congress), while completely prohibiting the public from having any access to and knowledge of -- let alone involvement in -- what they are doing.

So there you have it. Apparently it doesn't matter who wins this election if you look at it from this point of view. Congress is apparently bought and paid for by the mega corporations. Something about this whole thing stinks and the author's note that AT&T was just given immunization from any lawsuits is dead-on. This smacks of elitism and has the general flavor of a system out of control.

The new change is apparently the same as the old change.
