I found this video on youtube and hope our talented members can determine if this is legit.

I like the footage but like the poster in Youtube know nothing of its origin.

Enjoy

Rhain

p.s. I did do some searching but found nothing on this crash.

I seen this on tv like 3 years ago.

They were testing some sort of shuttle device. Nasa.

But on a small scale.

Why would you not think it was a UFO. The announcer just called it an object. Like I stated in my OP, I had no idea where it originated from.

Thank you for clearing it up for me, which was all I was looking for.

well if you were not aware of what it was prior to watching that video then it could be easily taken out of context and have a believable UFO spin put on it.

so i dont fault you for any wrong doing in posting it as a possible UFO because the utube poster has labeled it as a UFO.

i will admit i watched a couple months ago and wasn't sure till i heard the people on the radio and then recognized it as the Genesis probe.

it does look like a ufo

edit to add...

the reason they called it an object is because they knew it was coming down and they had to determine if it was actually the probe before they could say it was the probe.

Thanks Rhain, that was a fascinating video to watch. Too bad the cameraperson couldn't keep it in focus right at the very moment of impact, but I imagine that was a pretty neat trick just keeping it in the viewfinder as it decended. I didn't know what I was looking at, to tell the truth, but I was fairly certain it was a U.S. product when they were talking about its failure to deploy it's parachute.

Pretty good craftsmanship, to create a spacegoing object that tumbles during reentry, impacts soft [clay-like?] Earth and still stays together

Thanks for the view.
