Wow, that is truly messed up. We have gotten to the point where "doing your best" isn't what it is all about. It happens even in schools where the smarter kids in a subject have to "wait" for the rest of the class to finish or catch up to them. Never mind trying to keep stimulating those students with more talent. My son was told not to read so much in class during free time or after he has finished an assignment early.

this is bizarre, in CA he would be the norm. Most AA (8-10) and AAA (9-11) little leaguers are throwing in the high 30's and well into the 40's. They should just put the kid in a higher league, problem solved.
