The aging WBC founder Fred Phelps, has taken steps to ensure his legacy as one of the most controversial baptist church leaders in the nation by planning his followers to protest his funeral when the leader dies. The 89 year old minister is quoted as saying "I know my funeral will be protested, I just want to make sure my family and parish are at the head of that protest. Because I know they are the only ones I trust to protest my funeral right"

Shirley Lynn Phelps-Roper, one of Mr. Phelps daughters is slated to be the lead protester for the funeral.
