Why is this breaking news? Does it affect the country at large? Does it have an alternative spin? Does it make ATS members more enlightened or intelligent?

No. It perpetuates a disgusting and sordid story about an unfortunate child. It spreads fear, uncertainty and doubt.

Sure this is sickening and disturbing, but it does effect us all.

This stuff obviously IS going on in the world and we need to be aware of it.
Would you rather stick you head in the sand and pretend it does not go on so you can continue enjoying your peacful existance?

Maybe this should be moved to current events or elswhere, but it is something we should all be concerned about and vigilant to make sure it does not hapen to someone we know and love......

Once again sensationalism, that sells even here on the incorruptible ATS. Or maybe I am crazy.
Wat is the conspiracy?

....wow

It belongs here so that the world knows about sick and twisted people like this

would you rather them hide forever incognito of their crimes so you can walk by them, brush shoulders, and never know of the atrocities they committed?

Here's a question for you - why does your complaining belong on ATS?
This constitutes breaking NEWS
This is something you'd see on the evening news in a local city- possibly even CNN

instead of just clicking back and finding another thread - you felt compelled to complain

thats the problem.

While it is a disturbing story it is by no means the sickest or most degrading etc that mankind is capable of.

A lot of you live in a very sheltered world indeed and for the most part have only slight glimpses of the real world.

People in this world are literally Butchered every day on this fine planet, Some for no other reason then they pray to a different god. Others because someone just likes to kill people .. And others because someone likes to eat human flesh.

The human animal is capable of much much worse then this... A hell of a lot worse........

Time to wake up to reality people.....The world we live in is not a pretty place and just because we are able to use tools and do math and think we are above other animals. .Doesn't mean we are.

As a species we are barely out of the jungle so to speak.

If you study MKULTRA and CIA mind control, you will come across many incidents like this, given they are usually in secret. The way children are abused in more ways I'd like to talk about is beyond comprehension.

Perhaps this is one of the many cases (parents are paid by the CIA to abuse their children in many ways thus setting them up for a MPD due to the abuse, which then 'prepares' the child for future training.

Sick? Absolutely. It shouls be talked about more, especially on here. ATS.

Now this may not be a case of what I just wrote about, but you should always pay attention to detail, and if interested read up on it. Not only is it VERY distressing to read and find out about, but it is real, according to Cathy O'brien, Kathleen Sullivan, Brice Taylor (Sue Ford), Candy Jones, to name the few that escaped these CIA black op type scum.

Google, and read or watch the info at your own pace, but be prepared to be very disturbed. These crimes should be fully investigated, and not closed "due to national security".

I know I'm raging. It's just between this story and the boy who was tortured and murdered - it's all so random. So are we supposed to live in fear and be suspicious of everyone!?

IMO this story, although horrible, is just another info-bomb on our psyche, meant to control our emotions and our behavior. The reality is that these types of stories DO NOT affect 95% of the population but they do get 95% of the news focus. These stories affect the way we view each other and our overall society. There is a reason some topics are taboo - it does no good talking about them ad nauseum.

en.wikipedia.org...

Mean World Syndrome is a phenomenon whereby the violence-related content of mass media convinces viewers that the world is more dangerous than it actually is, and prompts a desire for more protection than is warranted by any actual threat.

Oh yea, not the cartoon one but Flo, with the tricked out name tag. She is the coolest, or is progressive just trying to sell me something? I don' know, but I bet a lot of the people who are replying to this post are the same ones who think T.V. is bad. WOW are you kidding me, it is horrible. Still there are a hundred people reading it now.

Andrew, this site belongs, in essence, to all of us. And you're right, this is the kind of sad story that would wind up on the local news or CNN. In fact, I'm sure that it will.

Yes, it is beyond reprehensible that such things happen not only in our world, but right here in the United States of America. However, the solution is not found in us simple agreeing that it's a terrible thing. The solution begins by all of us, especially the citizens of this great nation, asking ourselves just how do things like this, school shootings, teenage girls beating one another on YouTube, etc. happen, and why? And, most importantly, since we are all United and all responsible for our society, what are we going to do about it, besides be disgusted?

Let's not forget Nancy Grace. Is that where we are headed?

This isn't Reddit or Drudge. We don't come to ATS for just the latest headlines, we come for an alternative perspective on those headlines. To dig deeper or to find stories not covered in the MSM. Actually, I added a CT spin to the OP with my last post. You're welcome.

And BTW, why is your complaint more important?

Sadly I think you are wrong this issue does affect us all. You say this story is getting 95% of the news focus this is the first time I have heard this story and I’ve had the news on all day although I did not go online for news today so maybe I just missed it. That’s hardly 95% of all news focus though.

What I find important from this story is that it was the child’s mother who was fully responsible and even found gratification in the act. Society is not ready to accept that the majority of sexual abuse is condoned by and at the hands of friends and family even mothers. Society wants to believe it is some unknown creepy pedophile stranger that is the real danger. Strangers account for only 10% of reported cases read the numbers. darkness to light

I mean come on 1 in 4 girls is sexually abused by the age of 18 if you know 4 women one of them went through some pretty bad times and you all wonder what’s up with a lot of females in relationships today. Imo this issue contributes greatly in its effect on relationships within our society as a whole. The numbers are just as bad for boys.

While this story is sad and disheartening clearly people are still not getting it or why did Debra Lafave get off so easy. Society can’t accept women/mothers are abusers or molesters. Read Sybil there’s an example. Countless women/mothers condone the abuse of children. If we want to ever impact the numbers this is the real area were we must venture. People are just not ready for that. Many sided with the FLDS women, these were after all good god-fearing wives and mothers they would never condone sexual abuse. Just Google rape, incest, Amish.

Please just take some time visit the link see the statistics and how this does affect each and every one of us. Do we need to be suspicious of everyone? Where our children are concerned the answer has to be a resounding yes. If this thread just gets one person to take a closer look at that nice motherly nanny or neighbor before putting forth too much trust it could make all the difference in the life of a child. Communication and education is what it’s all about.

Your being a bit too one sided, maybe a hypocrite, no offence lol. As others may see the world too positive, you seem to view it too negative.

People spending all their time here and watching the bad things on the news all day will also get a negative view of the world, yes VERY bad things happen every day, but GOOD things happen plenty, we just have to go out look at the sky, nature, breathe the fresh air and talk to people to see it's not so negative, there is a balance.

So yes it's not a very pretty place sometimes, but it's also the most beautiful place we know.

Lesson here, nothing in life is black and white, it's more grey.

You guys dont think that maybe like...
This was an FBI investigation gone bad where an agent had to cover his ass, or possibly this guy didn't hold up his end of the bargain so he ruined his family by creating some lucrative news story.... like this?

Just a thought

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

I can't help but feeling sad that the couple were taken into custody.

If only some concerned citizen had responded, showed up at the door, and shot them both in their reproductive organs. Then, they could take the kids somewhere safe, and leave the 'parents' to bleed out through their ruined junk.

Sick...

Child molesters and rapists should face the death penalty, without question. These predators have no place in our society.

Unfortunately, they often seem to be protected, with people pulling strings at the highest levels. There's a serious undercurrent of pedophilia in the seats of power that control this country, and many others. You can't rise to power unless you've got a little dirt on you, and this sort of dirt is the best, for the purpose of blackmail and leverage.

It's a sick, sad little world y'all...

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

It is absolutely sick and what is even sicker & sadder than that is it isn't even the sickest or most shocking story I've seen in the past few months, let alone in my relatively short lifetime. We're seeing more & more of this crap and with each progressive "Parents pimping pre-teen child," "Mother/Father murders own children," or "Mother cuts flesh from own son, serves to dinner guests" article I see I find my belief in the book of Revelations strengthening more & more.
