I for one am glad to have this being analyzed as it is. I did however speak to them about this again and was told a much simpler explanation that Austria is to Germany what Canada is to the US.

[continued from previous post] - translation of german news article

Police are in a dilemma - on the one hand, they want to follow even the weakest hints, on the other hand they cannot in all earnestness investigate matters that specialists call mysticist nonsense. "It's true, this meant a lot to him - but we have to stick to the facts" said a policeman. The president of the Salzburg association for cavology (? what is the science investigating caves?) stated that Erich von Däniken had talked about the "Zeitsprung" in one of his books and linked it with the Untersberg. The "Zeitsprung" is described as when people spend an objectively rather long, think days, time span in one place, but feel as if only minutes had passed. Said a policeman - "the question remains: did he want to witness the 'Zeitsprung' or did he just want to visit the places mentioned in various publications [like the Däniken book]". This "Zeitsprung" business is the only thing out of the ordinary that could be researched about the Forsters. "He is described as introverted, but especially punctual and dependable by his employer." The three friends spent almost every weekend at the campsite at Schellenberg together, and speculation abounds. No hints of criminal activity could be found, and the shirt found could not be directly linked to Frau Köhn after all [as noted before].

Next article - or rather, weather stats for Salzburg on the night of their disappearance -

says: Saturday weather prognosis: wet and cool (it's from Friday, unhelpfully), clearing up on Sunday, they disappeared Saturday

Conclusion by the person who put the page online -

"As is known, the three re-appeared in Alexandria three weeks later with quite an adventuruous tale to tell [not like he mentioned any of that]. Further research delivered their place of residence, but none of the three were willing to talk about their experience. Still, you can easily re-trace the path they chose after leaving their car - in some parts, it closely resembles the path that Ernsting described in his book 'The nine Unknowns'". No one but the three people involved can say for sure what happened - however, there are certainly many questions remaining to be answered.

Okay, my good deed for the day is done...going to catch some z's now.

...that about hits the nail on the head. However, the Bavarians are a special breed; most Austrians don't consider them Germans, but sort of Austrians in exile...'nuff said. Prost!

Dear SkyFloating: This reminds me of Mt. Shasta, USA legends. There are some that mention "Lemurians", which some alleged witness account/reports as being small in stature, but do not recall skin color specifically being mentioned. Also time anomolies, dwarfs, dissapearences, etc...This mountain in Germany obviously has very MUCH more history, as being in Europe and inhabitted(general area) since at least the 1100's. Every one of the legends outlined in this thread by you and others, too is most fascinating stuff!! My wife was born in Stuttgart, so my sons are intrigued by this thread you have started. How does one go about getting a topographical map online of this mountain? Also, I would think that after Hitler's demise, SOMEONE would have pursued at least the explorations for the monetary gain of the treasures mentioned, don't you think? As an example I would cite the many, many people that invest as venture capitalists in schemes to find sunken treasures, one of those most recently found off the coast of Spain I believe. That particular one was based on material evidence, I agree, but many other ventures are pursuing treasure on legends alone and are always funded thru the stock exchanges & private funds. The German people are, in my opinion the worlds leading engineers, very analytical and NOT prone to extravagent unsubstantiated beliefs in general. So, in my opinion, these legends themselves have a high degree of credibility in my book. I base this on the general perception of what the german mindset is. I bet my bottom dollar that some german groups attempted a treasure-trove salvage at least a few times since WW2. I bet you can turn something up on this angle! stvn.

I checked that yesterday because I thought that the “Serra do Roncador” in Brazil would fall in that line also, but as far as I could see it, it was close but not in line.
But I have no good World Globe prog.

About the “Serra do Roncador” in Brazil.

I have to disagree with you - I don't think this was a poor post!!!!! I had seen the info when i was digging around for other stuff - i think some of it is more relevant if you are considering a "spiritual" link, but some of the more scientific stuff is, i think, relevant.

Again, i can't upload it (i must learn....) but there is a great map entitled "Magnetic Anomoly Map of Australia" at www.ga.gov.au, which shows a high level of magnetism in the area of Uluru (or Ayers Rock as i used to call it!), so the magnetism link is there. It is also said to extend to a great depth below the surface, although i have not found anything yet to suggest there may be vast networks of caves. Also, i have read articles about light anomolies, where either the sky or the rock itself changes colour - this has also been a feature of Untersberg, with the sky, etc. Caused by magnetism? Also on the site above, are other maps, regarding gravity, ore deposits, etc. A very interesting resource. We could really do with something similar for the region around the Untersberg.

Thank you SETI! That was a lot of work, but it was appreciated. Now another request from the "Give Them An Inch..." club - I think I'm the President at present - could you look at this Ernstig "The Unknown Nine" book? I don't mean translate it, but maybe check a few .de sites and see if there is anything there. If so, what is it about? Zeitsprung? Is is seminal?

I looked around .com's but came up empty handed.

Sky - Per Hitler, Nazi's and time-bending, right on. I'm in, but want to make sure I am not double posting as it seems there is a lot here all ready, need to go back and read some more.

Good times!

I have copied the text that relates to what I'm referring to. The rest goes on to mention Lords of the Black Stone.

...A second apparition occurred in 1226 and were repeated on occasions until 1238. During this period the Templars received "Die Isais Offenbarung", a series of prophesies (recently published) and information concerning the Holy Grail. The Templars at Jerusalem had knowledge of these visitations, over which the Church drew a veil of silence. What follows is only tradition, but may be of interest. It is the German tradition that the Templars were ordered to form a secret scientific sect in southern Germany, Austria and northern Italy to be known as "Die Herren vom Schwarzen Stein" - The Lords of the Black Stone - or DHvSS for short, and this is said to be the true, hidden meaning of SS. The Holy Grail ("Ghral" is holy stone, Persian-Arabic) was said to be a black-violet crystal, half quartz, half amethyst, through which Higher Powers communicated with humanity. It was given into the safe-keeping of the Cathars, and smuggled out of the last stronghold at Montsegur, France, and hidden, by four Cathar women on the night of 14 March 1244. There is a Cathar legend that 700 years after the destruction of the Cathar religion the Holy Grail would be returned to its rightful holders, DHvSS, or the SS?

I find this very interesting. The Bible tells that the High Priest Aaron (Moses' brother), used stones referred to as the Urim and Thummin, which gave them abilities to communicate with God's and seek His will on important decisions, etc...

I wonder if this stone could be one of them? They were referred to as 'jewels'.

Well out of the gate I found this much. A wikipedia entry that descirbes him as a prolific writer of Science Fiction, over 300 sci-fi novels to his credit. His english psuedonym was Clark Darlton.

Now it gets less interesting for me, the book that is. I realize that I was assuming it was non-fiction... hmmm...
