Now you know why I call my 'location' WisCOMUNISMsin!

I tell ya, these fascists' here in Wisconsin are OUT OF
CONTROL!

They solve ALL problems with FORCE! Didn't Hitler & Stalin &
Moussolini & Pol Pot do the same thing? And millions died...

Couldn't they have just shown up, and gotten the overdue
book back?

Next thing you know, the "People's Republic of Wisconsin"
will be executing people for nothing!

Just kidding.

At least the stormtroopers knocked!

I would NOT have answered the door. Would YOU?

Man-- that is hardcore! lol

I agree that she should not have ignored the letters and phone calls and once a warrent has been issued the police should be knocking on the door, but I have to feel sorry for her because of her age. I can't list all of the stupid things I did when I was 20 that came back to bite me in the butt.

There was an article in the press not too long ago about how if you don't pay your fines you'll go to jail. I guess they are just starting to crack down on this as well. The driving enforcement is a joke... they're stopping you pretty much for any little thing. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good idea, but get the drunks, the people swerving from lane to lane, the really bad speeders, etc. Not getting pulled over for going 28 in a 25 zone.

Complete waste of resources to go arrest someone for not returning 2 lousy paper backs LOL!!!! Wow I guess they are hurting for money.

Yes, Daniem, we do! Thanks for asking!

The au6th6or6ities are turning more & more into a commi-fascist,
totalitarian tyrranical dictatorship!

As a victim of their immoral rule, I speak from experience.

I first became aware of this, sometime in the mid-eighties as a young
20-something average working kid, when I was told they are making a
law that you MUST have auto insurance.

I could barely afford gas, and could NOT come up with those 'premiums'.
Insurance was an option for the wealthy. Insurance sounded like it's origin
came from 'protection money' paid to gangsters. (Corporate gangsters,
now). I still have not found a good enough definition of 'insurance' to
satisfy me. THERE IS NO SUCH THING!

I thought it should only apply to those who have caused injuries or damage
to someone else, not the rest of us, who drive carefully & responsibly.

Anyway, I remember thinking at the time, what's next? Laws that you must
mow your lawn? Laws that you cannot protest wars? Laws that say where
and when you could smoke? Laws that say you cannot park cars off your
driveway? Laws that you cannot burn leaves or have a bonfire? Laws that
say you cannot pull off the road, to park, or rest, except at designated
rest stops? Laws for registering bicycles? Laws against playing my records
loud? Laws for the amount of pets you can own? Laws to obtain finger-
prints and/or eye-scan, just to cash your paycheck? Laws that make any
questioning our gov. about political assassinations CLASSIFIED???????

What do you know- all those things are laws now. Proof enough for me,
of a gov. out of control, with their insane control-issues! Only insane
people think they can control others! Only insane people drop bombs on
others! Only insane people manipulate news, to continue holding onto
their power, while they deny being in denial about it! It's evil, and wrong!

I'm a "seer", man. I saw all that coming, 25 years ago. You should hear
what I've "seen" lately. . . it's NOT pretty.

QUESTION AU6TH6OR6ITY!
and be locked-up, labeled, processed, humiliated, diagnosed, medicated,
sentenced, and warned, and much worse.

Thing I don't get about this is.
It COSTS money for the courts to do all this.
It COSTS money for the police to come and do all this.
It COSTS more money for the person to be kept in prison.
And they never get the money for the books.
Of course another government system that doesn't work and defeats the whole purpose and is just a pointless show of power practicing for the future enslavement of all not with the program people.
Could you imagine the library themselves making a mistake and losing the books and this person having to go to prison even through they returned them?
Can you imagine a library employee STEALING the books and selling them and this person having to go to jail?

This is called a serious lack of responsibility and a bad allocation of police responsibilities.

Try going to your local police department and complaining about byciclists in the street not obeying street traffic laws in certain sectors of the city, and ask them to send some units out there to issue tickets accordingly

guess what?

They'll tell you they have better things to do

This case is no different.

I didnt read the whole story - but i guess its a smaller town with a police force who has absolutely nothing to do

in that case they should be shut down and the jurisdiction given to the state or county body

bad waste of tax payer dollars.

Well, back in 92 my wife and i had a house fire and it killed her little girl and we lost every thing we owned. Some library books i checked out burned up as well. I told the library about this and then ignored them. Well later down the road the police came looking for me, to arrest me for the fines. I went and turned myself in and had to pay the fine later. &*&*)) the library!

Sure does!
Glad I can count on you, my friend, to see this for what it is!

Exactly right! STAR!

Yeah, I guess I could, hadn't thought about that one...

Could you imagine a gov. so insane, that they outlaw naturally occurring,
God-given medicinal plant life??? And if you're caught with some, you go
to prison?

My mind hurts! LOL

Yeah, I've had a note from my local council before telling me that I must mow my lawn. They stated that the long grass was a fire hazzard... sure... I guess that with a steel framed garage on my block, it might tumble like WTC 7 did in the fires. You know how the grass might burn hot enough to melt the steel and cause thermal expansion!

Why don't the law enforcement officials in Wisconsin apply their efforts to solving real crimes.

This article is pathetic. A blatant abuse of power.

The media has really distorted this story.

SHE FAILED TO APPEAR IN COURT. That is why she was arrested. It's the surest way to take a nominal situation and legally escalate it big-time.

This would have happened for a parking ticket too.

Well said, STAR!

Only a small handful of gov. agencies demonstrate excellence, in my op.

Are you missing the point, or don't you understand that all she did was not return some library books?

The bureaucracy failed on every level, as shown by placing the woman in handcuffs for not returning a library book.

Bah! I've had enough of people who support the system, when the entire system is morally corrupt, devoid of emapthy and completely consuming.

Why didn't they knock on her door and ask for the books back? It would have cost less money than sending around the goon-squad to cuff her.

INSURANCE: Was invented by the chinese. Bandits were taking about one in ten cargos shipped down a river. To spread the risk the merchants got together and split up their cargoes among several merchant owned boats so no one merchant would lose his entire cargo. Now a third party collects money from everone else and then tries to weasel out of paying when "the cargo is stolen"

I think Gordy Dickson wrote about this in a 1965 Analog short story "computers don't argue" Hope she doesn't get the death penalty because of a computer error.

Why don't they just microchip the books?
I mean they want to microchip us why not some books as well?
Then they could go and find the books instead of a person, which to deal with a person actually costs more than the books are worth.
You know the actual "supposed" aim of the whole exercise to find the books?

I am horribly sorry about that, Optix, and your wife. I'm saddened
enough to shut down my computer for the night, but allow me to tell you
how evil the au6th6or6ities are, from my experience, first;

My beautiful, young Cousin, Bridgett Ann DeCleene, (20) was being
stalked by a 'man' named robert bevington, (63).

Her parents called the police, to report this, after many, numerous
unwanted calls, and unwanted visits to her workplace, and many
inappropriate advances, and solicitations for romance.......Because they
wanted something done about this sicko.......

They said: "Sorry, there's nothing we can do, because he (bevington)
hasn't broken any laws yet".

So, her family moved out, to another town, to avoid this 'man'.......

But he found her. And continued to persue & harrass Bridgett.

Finally, he abducted her at GUNPOINT; took her against her will to his
place; held her overnight, against her will; and SHOT her to death.......

THEN, he set his filthy place on FIRE, and shot himself to death!

That's just the LATEST reason why I have no respect for police, or
au6th6or6ity, whatsoever! Because they are totally ineffective at
preventing murder.

But SO effective at preventing library theft, I guess!!!!!!!

Before clicking this link, please keep in mind, that the police have
ever so conveniently OMITTED the fact about being asked to do something
about this stalker (later to become a murderer) BEFORE Bridgett
suffered an unimaginably heinous death at his hand's.......

Article - Bridgett's murder

I am so sorry to hear that!
The way the system is, makes you want to take the law in your own hands!

If they paid cops better and spent more money on defending ourselves... our priorities are all wrong in this world... instead of paying millions to basketball/football players, etc;
, pay that to people that risk their lives on a daily bases and maybe something might get done in a timely fashion. priorities!
of course that might make them lazy but they need to take any kind of aggressive attitude towards another as serious business.
