BEIJING - Despite persistent questions about the ages of several members of the Chinese women's gymnastics team that won the gold medal, the International Olympic Committee said Friday there is still no proof anyone cheated and believes the controversy will be "put to rest."

The IOC asked the International Gymnastics Federation to investigate "what have been a number of questions and apparent discrepancies," spokeswoman Giselle Davies said. But all of the information the Chinese gymnastics federation has presented so far supports its insistence that its athletes were old enough to compete.

With the IOC ruling that the Chinese have presented enough edvidence to contridict incorrect webpage age references, this should put to rest the numerous rumours circulating that at least one of Chinas gymanst are underage. A old passport issued five years ago when He wasn't even dreaming of going to the olympics let alone thinking of going there underage should dismiss the claims put forth by the American media. At that point she was not a well known talent and was not a dominant gymnast which would give China no reason to change her birthdate allowing her to compete

sour grape phenomena,if you are better than them and defeat them,they will try other ways to discredit you,some people can never learn to respect their better rivals.
