Facts and figues on this problem can be juiced, so you have to watch out. This is so primarily because of immigrants coming into America by the
millions, thereby dilluting the averages.
In fact people in america own almost 2 cars per person. The percentage of families that own thier home is the highest in American history. People
are reconsolidating thier debts to the lowest intrest rates in 40 years. Technological revolutions have made life a lot easier through the years as
well. Dispite all this, is their still a problem? Yes.
On the rare occasions I have agreed with the socialist Bernie Sanders, I realized that factors such as the above do not matter if the people do not
BELIEVE that they are well off. Perhaps the media, people's burdens, and even us extanging ideas here is participating in the degregation of
people's feeling of selfbeing. So even though the "poor" in America are RICHER THAN EVER, if they percieve that they are poor scum, then they ARE
poor scum and they start to get pissed! A good example is jesse jackson rousing up his minions after a long degrading speech how they are STILL
getting beat up and marginalized.
For us middle class types, I think the greatest threat to our self wealth are the liberal spin machines, who deal out thier guilt over progress, our
continual societal problems that never get solved not matter what the funding (always needing more yet problem remains stagnent). The message they
send is truly pecimistic: we are destroying nature, we destroyed the noble savages who perfectly lived with nature, we keep killing each other with
guns, we keep having crime, we can't get along with anybody because they always speak about how we need more allies and talks, etc, etc. Just look
how no liberal really stands up for Kerry, but rather bashes president Bush in EVERY arguement. I don't see how we get out of this mess without
conservatives in power becuase the great society has been funded consistantly out pacing growth for 40 years and there has bee NO progress in the
percentages.
