While I am not entirely certain as to the source used to ascertain the statistics in the OP, such data is readily obtained.

For instance, you might consider studying the statistics supplied by this source:

CRS Report for Congress This report offers a rather extensive listing of US Military deaths (combat and otherwise).

That's all fine and dandy. But there's a big difference between dying for your country (where deaths are justified) and dying for the interests and profit of big oil companies (where it's murder).

My opinion of Bush remains the same. In fact, all you've done is reaffirmed my belief that Bush should be tried and convicted of war crimes and investigated for conspiracy to commit murder of nearly 3000 people on September 11, 2001.

OK, but let’s do this again using your source with military casualties due to hostile action.

From Table 5, on Page 11.

1980 .......... 0 ( Carter Year )

1981 .......... 0 ( Reagan Year)
1982 .......... 0 ( Reagan Year)
1983 .......... 18 ( Reagan Year)
1984 .......... 1 ( Reagan Year)
1985 .......... 0 ( Reagan Year)
1986 .......... 2 ( Reagan Year)
1987 .......... 37 ( Reagan Year)
1988 .......... 0 ( Reagan Year)

1989 .......... 23 ( George H W Year )
1990 .......... 0 ( George H W Year )
1991 .......... 147 ( George H W Year )
1992 .......... 0 ( George H W Year )

1993 ...........0 ( Clinton Year)
1994 .......... 0 ( Clinton Year)
1995 .......... 0 ( Clinton Year)
1996 .......... 1 ( Clinton Year)
1997 .......... 0 ( Clinton Year)
1998 .......... 0 ( Clinton Year)
1999 .......... 0 ( Clinton Year)
2000 ...........0 ( Clinton Year)

2001 .......... 3 ( George W Year )
2002 .......... 18 ( George W Year )
2003 .......... 343 ( George W Year )
2004 .......... 739 ( George W Year )
2005 .......... 739 ( George W Year )
2006 .......... 761 ( George W Year )
2007 .......... Not Listed

Clinton years (1993-2000): 1 death

George W years (2001-2006): 2,603 deaths

There’s a big difference. The number you posted included other causes and most were due to accidents, which were reduced over the years. Other deaths include homicide, suicide, and terrorism. Why didn't you mention that?

Actually, I expected more in 1993 from the Battle of Mogadishu, but I guess that was considered a terrorist attack.

If you are going to use the number of deaths of American soldiers for political reasons, at least try to get your numbers right.

Ther are other forums on the net where you might find people of weaker resolve and of weaker mind, but i think all you'll find here is that there are 7,932 more reasons for bush to be impeached and thrown out of office. I know he wont be becasue they have the system by the balls but he should be.

You can gang up on the lefties all you want but using fellow soldiers, FELLOW DEAD AMERICANS, as examples of bush's greatness is a big reach. What trash.

I’m confused by your data that you listed. In the source you provided looking at the table of deaths by year it shows different numbers then you show for some of the years you listed. For example in 1995 you have listed 2,465 according to your source it shows 1,040. In fact there are several years that you seem to have inflated numbers for. What am I missing???

Here are the correct stats using your source

Year Total Deaths
1993... 1,213
1994... 1,075
1995... 1,040
1996... 974
1997... 817
1998... 827
1999... 796
2000... 758
2001... 891

Good catch. I didn't notice that myself. His numbers aren't right even for all military deaths.

Your numbers are right except for

1996 which should be 974, not 1974, and

2001, which should be 891 not 1891.

You should still have time to fix that.

This is my humble opinion.

I somehow flagged this ( ??? ), but at any rate it was an interesting post. What surprises me is that the Clinton numbers were so high (relatively). And that the losses at wartime footing don't seem to be any higher than peace time attrition.
Put in light of the fact that over 16,000 people die in a given year due to drunk driving, the numbers for war time losses, while no less tragic, actually seem rather small.

Ahh, now I see where you are coming from. First of all, thank you for serving our country, I respect you for doing that. I would have joined the military myself but I believe in leading by example. Pres. Clinton ran away when he had his chance to serve and Pres GW ended up going awol. Two ass clowns ended up being commander in chief with no real military service. I will never have any respect for chicken hawks and that is why I will never serve in the military of this country. One year of ROTC is as close as I ever got, thank you and everyone else who has served for being bold and blind enough to risk your life on behalf of retarded commander in chiefs.

It's just starting too. The whole edifice of lies and propaganda and fear mongering are being exposed. We have actually had our second Vietnam and something WORSE than Watergate. The lie behind the WMD claim is out in the open and on public record. Sending our military into an unnecessary war with FORGED evidence is tantamount to treason.

T-R-E-A-S-O-N

question is who will be the patriots that rescue the ship from the mutineers and steer it back into port?
