Russia's new nuclear challenge to Europe

www.timesonline.co.uk
Russia is considering arming its Baltic fleet with nuclear warheads for the first time since the cold war, senior military sources warned last night.

The move, in response to American plans for a missile defence shield in Europe, would heighten tensions raised by the advance of Russian forces to within 20 miles of Tbilisi, the Georgian capital, yesterday.

So do you want to die from a nuclear war?
Or maybe in 1-2 years after that from radiation poisoning?
Even if you survive the initial blasts.

It is what it is. How are my comments going to change anything? In fact if war does start you can rest the blame solely on America for instigating the unfathomable...

Nope not a nazi. The avatar is the flag for the german police. We are living in the 4th reich - look around, do you REALLY think America is what she was even 50 years ago??????Hmmm put it together....

Russia has EVERY right to do what she is doing. Listen, people are tired of America's tyranny. Democracy in Iraq? Thats an oxymoron - those people would not know democracy if it bit them in the a$$ - they have been rule by tribe and dictator for thousands of years, what makes anyone think our way is correct?

Russia totalitarian? Hmmm, I t hought we brought her democracy twenty years ago? Oh thats right, it didn't work - democracy doesn't work for all people. How is Russia coming to the aid of Ossetia, who had the LEGAL right to break off any different then the US bombing the hell out of Afghanistan, Iraq, or any other country that we feel like liberating? What, its only good for America, and not others????

Good find on the breaking news.

THis part should be crystal clear to the Russians,

"When you threaten Poland, you perhaps forget that it is not 1988," Rice said. "It's 2008 and the United States has a ... firm treaty guarantee to defend Poland's territory as if it was the territory of the United States. So it's probably not wise to throw these threats around."

Notice NATO was not mentioned at all, just the United States.

So those people are incapable of adapting, kind of like oh lets see, a lower form of human? Perhaps you are a nazi after all.

Russia is now treading on very thin ground, NATO is not who they are facing, it is the US in plain language, not political mumbo jumbo.

The notion that the US is stretched thin is a myth. The US armed forces are designed to wage a world war on two fronts globally. Iraq and Afghanistan are mere skirmishes compared to what the millitary is designed to face.

Using your analogy, lets pretend that the US was a weaker power and some muslim country was a superpower. Lets suppose that the Muslim country overthrew the our government and established their own, with their own way of laws and customs - things unfamiliar to the majority of Americans. Do you REALLY think that the people here could adopt and convert to Sharia law over night? Reality says emphatically NO!! So given this comment: (So those people are incapable of adapting, kind of like oh lets see, a lower form of human? Perhaps you are a nazi after all.) you basically are saying that Americans are a lower form of life?

Get a grip dude, and stop calling me a Nazi - I explained very well above why that arguement was flawed, or can't you read? - maybe you should do some reading instead of spouting non sense.

Lets start with that American mindset is not in tune with current times. USA has gotten used to being the big kid on the block and is unwilling to adapt that mindset. Russian on another hand was in that economic mess not so long ago. They had no other choice but to accept the fact. Thats why in the 90's Russia and US were really "buddy-buddy". They had enough nukes to end all life on this planet but they didn't have the means to respond in more tactical or precise fasion.
In the past years the tables have turned. US is bogged down in the middle east and Russia is making a lot of money from that mess. (Oil Prices move mostly internationally)
In the simple temps, it is unprofitable for Russia to have peaceful, stable Middle East. That is why they are supporting Iran, and sold weapons to Iraq. They are brewing a proxy war. Superpowers don't fight directly, you want one of your minions to fight for you, simple strategy.
Now objectively speaking, Russian is try to do everything in its power to get US to go to war with Iran, they are trying to start a proxy war there. Unfortunately USA, with macho thinking is likely to fall into that trap.
This whole shield debate is superficial in nature, but it becomes an ego contest rather quick. For the fairness sake, US did get pretty upset about Russians considering to base their bombers in Cuba. Neither one of those propositions are catastrophic in nature like the media would make you think. Russian ICBM block would easily overwhelm the shield systems, and USA does have the capacity to neutralize any airborne threats from Cuba.
What really is happening, is Russia trying to manipulate the world market to its liking, like US has done in the 90's.
