I realize that this is all over the news right now. But isn’t this that same deal that Russia said if it went through Poland would pay the price?

why now? why not after this whole Russian problem goes away? America are asking for a fight...they need to understand something, they are NOT going
up against a country like Iraq of Afgan..they are going up against a very dangerous enemy, this will end ugly.

This will force the bigshot european nations to fall in line and know their role. NATO's slap in the face the other day is what is driving the
timetable on this.

Rice shaking hands with the Polish President reminds me of the one of Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam Hussein in the 1970''s. Somehow you
know this isn''t going to turn out good.

MOSCOW — Russia says its response to U.S. missile shield development will go beyond diplomacy. Russia's Foreign Ministry says the U.S. plan is
part of an "extremely dangerous bundle" of military projects.
This has just gone from bad to worse!

This was from Condoleezza Rice "When you threaten Poland, you perhaps forget that it is not 1988," Rice said. "It's 2008 and the United States
has a ... firm treaty guarantee to defend Poland's territory as if it was the territory of the United States. So it's probably not wise to throw
these threats around."
It sounds to me like she is just trying to start a fight.

Don't you see the consequence of what Russia would do if Poland sets up a missile shield? Poland will soon be like Georgia. Rice is pushing Russia
around like a toy because of the amount of power that the U.S has. That's why ice1300 disagrees with the article.
I must say Rice must've had her period or something, she's being a total hag. She's being like a female version of George W. Bush.

Do the words "I've got a bad feeling about all of this" help any?
Obviously there is something the Bush administration is holding back in all of this.
To me it all seems a bit convenient when you look at how aggressively the USA was pursuing Iran over the nuclear issues, and how it had came to the
point where everyone was accepting that there would be some kind of military response on Iran... But the Russians stepped forward, and in many ways
took the side of the Iranians on these issues.
Now, Russia has found itself in this situation, further isolated, tricked into invading Georgia, demonized in the press, threatened and insulted, all
while having missile defense systems placed in close proximity to its borders.
If you corner this kind of bear, with few or no options, that bear will attack you with everything he has.

As it should.
There's no excuse for what the USA is doing. They're picking a fight - arming people to attack Russia (Georgia), and setting up shop on the Russian
border to protect against attacks "from Iran and North Korea".
Come on. Is anyone really buying this? Iran, maybe - there is a far, far outside chance that Iran, in a conflict situation, might decide to lob a
missile at Poland. It could happen. But North Korea? Good lord, their last invasion plan for Japan involved using gliders to land troops - and that
was only 10 years ago. Europe's got a better chance of being hit by the moon falling out of the sky.
In 1961, the USA installed Jupiters in Turkey. In 1962, Russia responded to that provocation with similar facilities in Cuba - tit for tat, and
justified. This is a similar provocation, one which will probably see the deployment of a similar Russian "missile shield" at sea, ringing the
United States. And when they do, the US will be outraged, and the media will conveniently forget the role the US administration played in starting the
whole mess in the first place.
