I went to a private high school in Hollywood, Fla.
We had LOTS of French Canadians there, and all I learned from them was Ferme toi!
(Shut up.)
The younger kids were getting on my nerves.
I had a 95 average in high school french, though!

edit to add:

Now, that I'm older, I would LOVE to learn to speak French fluently!

Will translations be provided for the use of "americanisms" and "american-english" too? Rules are rules.

Hood, trunk, levy, vacation, squash, siding, elevator (no, not "elevated"), gasoline, motel etc, etc.

Your need to inform us of rules that are not equally imposed is "literally" hippocritical.

ATS T&C.........
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1i.) Language: The dominant language of our users and moderation staff is English. In order to promote a smooth-running environment and fair enforcement of these Terms & Conditions, you agree not to post in any language other than English.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please add "American-English" to be "Fair"

Not all speakers of "english" speak "american-english" too!

A spanish friend also pointed out that there's no online translation software for american-english....interesting.

Where is he presumed to know all those things from, TV and movies?

Is this why ATS will never be truly "global"?.....shame!

"Well, I'm off to bell me skin on the dog then I'm having a well needed pony with the usual stinky tinkers".

"Oh, by the way...the water on me jam's gone, it's out on the frog, take a butchers and I'll shout you a Leo Sayer".

There....English....no translation needed right?

Cher elevatedone, vous avez soulevé un point intéressant ici. Je veux dire pour n'offenser personne. Je fais simplement une remarque également. Merci.

Dear elevatedone, you have raised an interesting point here. I mean to offend nobody. I am merely making a point also. Thank you.
