Russian soldiers take prisoners in Georgia port and steal US Humvees?

news.yahoo.com

POTI, Georgia - Russian soldiers took about 20 Georgian troops prisoner at a key Black Sea port in western Georgia on Tuesday, blindfolding them and holding them at gunpoint, and commandeered American Humvees awaiting shipment back to the United States.

The move came as a small column of Russian tanks and armored vehicles left the strategic Georgian city of Gori in the first sign of a Russian pullback of troops from Georgia after a cease-fire intended to end fighting that reignited Cold War tensions. The two countries on Tuesday also exchanged prisoners captured during their brief war.

This is a little crazy if it is true. The Pentagon says they are looking into the Humvee theft. This is some cease fire...

These just are not regular Russian troops that invaded Georgia.
Russia sent many Militia troops that are mostly hired thugs that are causing alot of whats going on over there.
Thats why when looking at news pics theres no consistancy with uniforms or weapons there.

These arn`t russian troops - russia sent mainline troops into Georgia , and they are withdrawing

the ones you see arn`t russian , could be Georgian thugs dressed up to steal some kit - like has been done in Gori

Interesting. Could this be the "False Flag" attack that the Russian General warned of?

Sounds like Russia is using their version of Blackwater in Georgia. Maybe since these guys are "outside" of the government's control, their actions are not accountable by the gov't, and therefore the cease fire hasn't been broken in Russia's eyes.

What were the Humvee's doing there in the first place?

Was there US Troops stationed there recently or was this just merchandise that was shipped over for other reasons?

Which also entertains the question... were the Humvee's 'war ready'?

Maybe it's like the Georgian version of "Pimp my Ride" you know, where they pretend to steal a guy's car and then bring it back all pimped out?

Or maybe they confiscated US military vehicles that the Georgian's were trying ship out the country before they were found. It seems like an odd time to be making cargo shipments unless they're pretty damned important.

Oh well, I wonder how long it will be to see ''counterfeit Hummers'' for sale - going very cheaply

I believe that as a nuclear superpower, Russia thinks it can rule can the world and take over whatever country stands in its way. It is obvious that Russia is more interested in the oil supply to the west. It is time we displayed the power of our K weaponry which removes oxygen from large areas for long periods of time damaging only life. Many people in the west are calling for Georgia to be armed with the new K3 weapons which would make even a small country like Georgia more powerful than Russia. K technology is far quicker to implement than nuclear. It can be delivered to target in a few minutes and is virtually undetectable.
It is time to make this and other new technology known to the Russians in better format to let them know they are certainly not the world’s leaders in weapons technology.

www.ecclectica.ca...

The US has troops and equpiment in many nations on the planet. It really is no surprise that US equipment was in Georgia, especially since they are friendly to the US and trying to get into NATO.
