I can't comment on the womens vault as I managed to miss it.
I'm really not bitter at all, just fed up with all your compatriots on all the olympic threads here whining about how hard done by they are.
And for the record this is the first time i've heard anyone complain that any other country is getting screwed over except the US.

That's probably because most of the attention of the U.S. Media is on
The U.S. teams...so obviously you are going to notice it more on team U.S.A....because you are watching it more...than the other teams

They are judged by the difficultly of their routines NOT on if they made the best landing. The American girl choose to do a very easy and basic routine and got rewarded with a low score. Simple as that. The scores were explained in a article published by the IOC. Some retired Americans questioned the new system and made points based on their experienced on the old system like it was a matter of fact.

It happened in the team competition too, on the balance beam, it's happened in synchronized diving.

So your suggesting that the people who didn't get any medals should be questioning whether the US deserved her nice third and second place medals?. Should China also bring up whether it should have won the gold in the Womans all-rounder?.

Don't worry...

Soon, China will be stripped of some medals for having 13-year olds competing...

Question, Why was China so Concerned about it not Raining?

Answer, because the Paper Tiger would fall apart...

If you got that from the same rumour mill than Micheal Phelps should have one last look at his medals then. The American media only managed to pull some misquoted internet links compared to the hundreds of meets the gymnast already have been and attempt to make something out of nothing. The new one is China apprantly is briding the judges because "team" USA is infallible and the only reason they arent wearing the gold is because someone cheated

It wasn't just the landing, thanks for playing. The difficulty of Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson were of higher difficulty or equal difficulty as the Chinese girls. Your bias is in your name...

Uhm, Michael Phelps is well above 16 years old...so your comment makes about as much sense as...uh...well it doesn't make any sense. It wasn't just the "US Media" who was pointing out the gymnast ages...anyone who honestly believes those girls were 16 (or 15 going on 16) is pretty much blind anyhow....and it's NOT just a U.S. issue.

It was just everything else the Chinese gymnast excelled at and the judges agreed. To bad the Americans can't accept that fact. On the beams the Chinese and Americans had EQUAL difficulty, Johnson didn't compete. Anyhow the AUSTRALIAN judge made that decisions and owing to the fact that the IOC CHOOSE her to judge shows her credentials instead of choosing the clowns doing the rounds in the US media

Yes...

Fine you agree with me. China should have won the Womens all-rounder instead of the Americans. If you concede that we have a case then you concede we have a point on scoring.

How out of touch are you. The doping allegations the US media made themselves about Phelps taking performance enhancing drugs. I dont subsribe to those so I'm letting you know the medias angle on everything

Who, the british?. Pretty much use each others material

Anyhow I posted before

With the Chinese winning the gold medal the Americans being sore losers as they are claimed that the Chinese athletes were underage and thus "cheating", as this documentry from 2003 proves, they are the correct age and trained in their correct age division. The funny thing is, a few small mis-reportings somehow overruled the fact that they had so much MORE REGISTERED ages in PREVIOUS competitions and yet the US media tried to point at some incorrect records to somehow make a point

With respect to the cases of Deng Lingling and Jiang Yuyuan, there is a 2003 documentary film about how China was preparing for the 2008 Olympics. This 89 minute documentary even includes the then unknown hurdler named Liu Xiang. In 2003, China was already screening young girls for the 2008 Olympics, and the group included Jiang Yuyuan and Deng Lingling (but not He Kexin). While birth certificates, passports and newspaper reports can be faked, it is unlikely that this documentary was faked back then because the Chinese sports authorities were just guessing who among the large group will emerge as eventual Olympians five years down the road.

Quote " This is for girl athletes who will be at the right age in 2008"

Still looks the same even when she is 16. This was when she was 12

Quote " Deng Lingling is the child who loves to cry"

well the completely overturn your links because mine say that now

Your provided ONE survey while I provided MULTIPLE surveys from a small newspaper. What point are you trying to get at anyway?. The NON-existant claim that China wasn't seen at a threat?. Are you trying to ping something on me
. And the fool reacts to nothing

Anyhow, before you look like a bigger clown. I dont live in China nor is that government my government.

I guess that explains how you can ignore all the information in my post, I guess the censor is in your brain...because I provided multiple surveys (then you say there is a "non" existent threat according...to???), yet you said I only showed one. I've pointed out your countless logical fallacies yet, you brush them off as if they were never said at all. I pointed out how you say the Media only wants to show how great the U.S. is but yet the Chinese government blocks access to anything that would show their own weaknesses...yet, you ignore everything I've said. I guess that's cognitive bias at it's best.

Wow!!!
I have really tried to debate things through and be civil to you on a personal basis, but that sure is a dumb comment to make.

Let me simply expand and re-iterate what I have previously posted (obviously you find reading and understanding other peoples points of view that do not agree with yours difficult ?) in the hope you will understand-

I am from europe, I do not watch the american media.

In europe the media have not complained about judging bias.

Here on ALL the olympic threads on ATS-all you read is american posters, saying how biased the judges are (except when america gets gold, strangely enough-then its not biased!) and how america should have got gold in this or that event.

It is quite clear that you are blinkered by your own patriotism and that you (personally as an individual and collectively as a nation) are a very poor sport, bad losers, finding it hard to get the sour grapes down your throats etc.

You even accuse another poster on the page of being biased just because he/she's got the name chinawhite!
Well, your bias is quite plain for all to see, and you can whine and whinge all you like or even bray usa-usa-usa at the tv screen-the medals table speaks for itself.

If there is really score fixing/doping it will all come out in time-but there would have to be a hell of a lot of it for you to catch up in the golds, you can always pray?
Like I said earlier-suck it down and learn how to lose gracefully.

I hope you realize that the Europeans you are citing above are now crawling up our azz (AGAIN) now that Russia is once again on the march threatening their safety. It's funny how a continent full of socialist ingrates can spew the bluster cited above when they feel all safe and cozy but when that same safety is threatened they cower behind the very object of their bigoted criticism.

Back on topic: I have much of the games that were televised on NBC recorded on Tivo. My favorite events have always been women’s gymnastics, swimming, and diving. I have watched the gymnastics over and over again and I must say that, while the chinese team deserved some of the medals they were given, some were given to them unfairly. Also, some of the chinese "athletes" are obviously far underage. If the IOC is going to retain any level of credibility they need to investigate this matter. If the chinese allowed underage athletes to compete those athletes should be stripped of their medals and china should be banned from the Olympic game for the next 20 years!

Uhm, what are you even talking about? I'm saying that people here...in the states are going to see judging mistakes more so for team USA...because, our media covers team USA more so than the other teams. I have a friend in Britian, who says that in fact British commentators have been saying the same things about OTHER teams...I also have an Australian friend who says their commentators are saying the same thing about OTHER teams. It is NOT a US phenomena. Again, I was merely pointing that people from the US are going to notice judging mistakes more so for team USA...because we mostly see Team USA...it's common sense. How that is a "stupid thing to say" is beyond me because it's common logical sense more views of item is going to make you see more mistakes in that item than in other items because...you have seen it more than the others. Think that through for a minute, let is soak in, or "suck it down" as you have said.

I have no bias, you don't even know my initial nationality nor my heritage...BUT when someone has..."China" in their name, and they are talking about how CHINA is infallible...has the Beijing Olympics in their avatar...uhm...their bias is pretty obvious.

Saying that you can't be a "graceful loser" or a "good sportsman" simply because you are questioning judging results is the equivalent of someone telling me that criticizing the government makes me unpatriotic. So get off of your high horse, because it is quite obvious who is being "bias" or having absolutely no logical base for their conclusions. It would also be nice if you would try to comprehend my posts, because I'm sick of you saying I'm not reading yours, when it is quite obvious that you haven't taken the time to read mine, or even try to comprehend them.

Well, it seems we both think the other is biased? Not much we can do about that!

All i'm saying is here on ATS all i've heard is americans moaning about the judging and not in our media.

I'm sure you are aware that the judging is now different from in previous years so I won't bang on about that.

My opinion which I believe is without bias or political motivation is that the olympic judges are far more aware of the judging standards than you or I or any commentators or press and that the best person/team on the day wins.

I'd like to congratulate Shawn Roberts and Nastia Liukin on their well deserved gold and silver in the womens beam final-if Fei had won gold or silver i'd be willing to see your point, but the best athletes won-simple as that!

But hello, Chinawhite. I'm guessing you're from China?
