I need to know if a thread may be deleted , I have been noticing lately the reminders on some pages about personal information, and should I wish to delete a past thread or post is that something that I would have to request be done and if so who do I request that from?

I want to know how to do this to; far as I know there's no way.

Have you tried editing the thread? You could selectively delete certain things you didn't want to post.

No, I haven't tried to do that, I am suprised I have not gotten a response yet from a moderator about this?!

Only moderators can delete posts and threads. You can edit posts up to two hours after you've written them, but after that they get locked to prevent selective editing.

Your best recourse is to use the complaint/suggestion feature in your member centre and detail what it is you'd liked removed - and why - and we'll take a look at it.

Never, ever put personal contact details in an internet forum

Do you want to delete an entire thread or a post or posts you made to a thread?

No sure but I believe you could edit posts you've made.

Second edit to add:

I left this thread and went to another thread and came back here to edit again.

Hope this helps you.

Third edit to add:

There may be a time constraint as to how long you can edit.
I'm sure the higher ups could delete a thread but the quetion is would they? Maybe a moderator will be with you soon and can answer this for you.

Edit to add:

The ATS thread or board and business thread would be a good place to ask your question.

Edit to add final edit:

OK it worked......I deleted my first edit. Hope it works for you. It should unless there is a problem with how long you can wait to edit.

Thank you, that answers my question about time constraints.

I thought that was the case but was not sure.

Going to bed. I'm getting a bit looney.
