USA picking a fight with Russia is an absurdity. Both sides will come out mauled. Dropping nukes to different cities will be inevitable for both the U.S and Russia.

Russia doesn't understand lightweight, emotional small-talk and hollow threats. Russia never will, because it never had to. All you're dong is writing a "nasty letter" and not doing anything about it.

Did this stop Hitler? Did it stop Napolean? No.

It's what a woman would do (write a nasty letter), and men in power don't understand this. They are greedy. Putin is greedy. Putin is essentially a murderer too. Not directly, but by his forces killing anyone that isn't Russian, including children. Specifically targeting civilians.

It's time to take Russia down once and for all. Hand them their a$s. We have the world's most superior military, but if we let Russia (and China) continue to build - it will only be worse later. Until then, we have to keep Tyrants like Putin down. Stand up and be proud - let him learn a lesson first-hand.

It won't come to Nuclear weapons, and Russia has already lost some of their inventory to the Chechnyan Mafia who has sold on the Black Market.

Russia isn't anything like it was militarily before as the Soviet Union. It's time to get them out of Georiga and destroy most of their tanks and planes there.

Georgia came to us wanting one thing - freedom from Russian imposed tyranny. They fought w/ us in Iraq and furthermore and just as important in terms of them being a great little country - they really worked hard and largely accomplished stamping out institutional corruption.

Did they shell Ossettians, Russians first? If so, this is why it's all going down - Russia is as pissed as we (America) would be if another superpower was messing around near our borders. If China or Russia was helping Latin American countries or Canada # would be the same.

The Russians were horrifically attacked by Hitler during WW2. They lost an ungodly amount of people. Without them fighting the Germans, the Allies would have lost.

The Russians are a proud and weary of other powers with good reason.

But this isn't Russian gamemanship anymore - this is war. I think they are just slowly starting a war on purpose.

And I think we will fight back and I don't think Russia's military will survive. At all. Yes the Russians can easily hit us HARD - no matter our missle shield - but we can hit them harder and quicker - giving us an edge for victory. If not, America is still the raddest country ever.

Russia has done nothing wrong. It's Georgia that started this fight and they got exactly what was coming to them. Some of you warmongers are so brainwashed your incapable of seeing the truth and that makes me and every other sane person extremely nervous.

Yes the USA would probably win as in launch the last remaining nuke on earth moments before the last russian nuke lands.

Any conflict between the two countries will HAVE TO go nuclear. There is no other way. Once one side starts to lose and is invaded on their home turf, the ONLY recourse is nuclear.

The shield will work, but only partially. You can arm one missle with multiple Nuclear warheads. These warheads split or 'fan out' to confuse the defense array. Some are dummy warheads to keep it occupied with those while the real ones may get through.

Either way, it wouldn't be good, but Russia would get the worst of it by far. There would be some US cities heavily damaged and Nuclear fallout in the air.

It cannot and should not come to this.

The US needs to get Russia out of Georgia using conventional warfare. They don't listen to speechs, or even worse, sign peace agreements just to buy time and break them a litte while later.

Has Georgia asked for our help or are you suggesting that we just butt into some other country and start a war? It isn't our business and we have no right to be there.

You know, Russia is by no means the good guy in this and neither is Georgia. Everyone seems to always leave out the key point that Georgia went into South Ossetia and started attacking the people out of nowhere because they had a democratic process in which 90% of Ossetians said they wanted to become sovereign from Georgia. Then Georgia goes in and makes them pay for that decision burning house, and people!, throwing grenades in basements where people are trying to take shelter from the madness.

Yeah, Russia seized on the opportunity to fulfill their own agenda but they also were defending the Ossetians because a lot of them are still considered Russian citizens and hold Russian passports. Everyone seems to be under the impression that Russia jsut went in there and started killing Georgians. Noooo....Georgians are the one who started the whole thing most likely on "orders" from the US.

It's kinda odd that Codi Rice was just there a few weeks ago and Georgia attacks Ossetia the day the Olympics start while everyone is preoccupied. Coincidence? No. We've been training their army for a reason. And Georgia knew FULL WELL how the Russians would react. We've got our own troops in Georgia and NATO and your gonna tell me we didn't know what Georgia was up to and how Russia would respond? This is all just a back door war for the US to start something with Russia in a strategical lead up to starting something with Iran. Notice how there's a damn pipeline involved? There's always a pipeline involved! And where you find a conflict over a pipeline America is sure to be there.
