Georgia started this war, only to be let down by America when it needed them.
I say let them fight their own battles. America won't challenge Russia, it only takes on countries that can't fight back
However there's loads of oil to be had, so lets see what happens....

Never have I heard anything as infantile as "I want the US to kick the Russians out"!. With the greatest respect, its that false bravado attitude
that has made the world a place that is in parallel to the dark ages.
I have kids, grandkids and friends who just want to make a life for themselves, in peace, in quiet, in harmony. Meanwhile sociopaths with egos that
make them think they are invincible go around playing High Noon in places like Iraq and too many others to mention.
This is life, reality I dont care who starts it if it starts, but I will defend mine against all, no matter your American, Russian or even my own dear
Country Scotland. This is bigger than countries or nationalism. This my friend is about the human spieces.
The best thing all the gun-totting hard men with lets kick ass attitude could do, is, all choose a desert, the bigger the better. Get all like minded
people to join you and then enjoy your blood thirsty, unthought out games.
Never has a posting in here made me as angry, yet sad as I am right now. If the OPs attitude is at all the consencus of feeling in the world, someone
just press the button now, we dont deserve this blue earth.

We can't afford to keep spreading ourselves this thin, militarily. America has enough irons in the fire right now without getting involved in any
more of the world's skirmishes.

Is it just me or is that not exactly what Bush has been doing for the last few years? Maybe the Ruskies are showing the US, using US backed Georgia as
proxy, that they won't get pushed around??

I was just watching Fox News @ 2:30pm Central time and saw that Bush was visiting the good ol spooks down at the C-I_a and the seem to be planning
something. Big talks were going down all day from what was reported and they showed Mr bush give a quick briefing to some media what was
discussed.....some stuff on the war on terror and the situation on Georgia. Also heard we got Rice over there today planning our next war with
Russia. This is no joke. America will be in Georgia within 48 hours. Locked and Loaded for defense over the Civilians......like always we come to
the rescue.

Exactly!!! This is what will lead to an eventual occupation of our Sovereign soil here in the U.S. Spread our troops so thin abroad that we have no
one left to defend our borders except our civilians that possess limited fire power.

Are you kidding? Obama's not President yet, haha. Try coming into America that will be their last mistake. We are Cowboys still and dont have a
problem with going off the deep end for $ or land. Me on the other hand will be heading to Canada and fishing while this WWIII starts.

America will not go into Georgia. Not even Bush would be so bold. Like other have said, Bush will only go after countries he knows can't fight back
worth a #. (allthough, look what that got him in Iraq)
No man, Bush is basically going to rant and rave on T.V. make himself feel better and repair his ego seeing as so many are calling him gutless now.
But IMO thats basically it.
Russia will pound Georgia for a few more days and then pull back to S.O.

Correct me if I am wrong here, but I havent seen Russia make any attempt at invading or overthrowing the government of a soverign nation. I havent
seen Russia occupy any country that is 3,000 miles away for the better part of six years. I havent seen Russia force their way of life onto other
nations in order to promote "their" way of thinking and believing.
I havent seen Russia seize an entire country in order to reap the profits from their oil wells/natural resources. I havent heard Vladamir Putin
talking about the need to spread Russian ideology at any cost.
Russia responded to an attempted ethnic cleansing of it's own citizens in an outer province that was under attack. How would you expect America to
respond if we were to find out that Russia was sending billions of dollars and weaponry to Mexico with the attempt to influence the politics of that
country for the benefit of Russia?
Exactly right. Not sure why people are blaming Russia after Georgia started this conflict. If Russia really wanted to, they could take back all of
Georgia. The U.S. has been trying to surround Russia with its little puppet governments. They've been trying to get Georgia into NATO which
fortunately the Europeans are against since it's quite an agressive attitude towards Russia along with the ABMs they're trying to put along their
border. I thought the cold war ended. You'd think with all that's going wrong with their economy that they'd start focusing on problems at home.

Hmmm... I don't think that it will get THIS bad, but it is a good point to consider. Definately we would benefit more by having the defense here
(where it belongs and what our military should be intended for) rather than abroad defending these little countries w/ rather big "mouths".

Our military needs to be here in the mainland United States where it belongs.
We are NOT the world police, our fighting men need to be at home where they are supposed to be. We have so many things here in our own back yard that
need to be fixed it just makes me sick that we are wasting all of this time, money and resources trying to play out some stupid Captain America oil
grab fantassy.
These elected scoundrels who are responsible for the past five years of aggression should be tried for war crimes and put in prison. They have done a
huge disservice not only to our nation and our tax payers who have elected them, but they have also commited an unforgiveable offense against our
fighting men and women who have suffered as a result....not to even mention the millions of foreign lives that have been taken and ruined as a result
of their greedy and piss poor decisions.
Enough is enough. Bring our troops home, give us back our country!!!!!
We the American people no longer want any part of your war of terror.

Yeah, it was more so meant to illustrate my point. However, if our country were ever to be invaded, then any force that has logic and strategy would
use this lack of defense to their advantage to gain a quick foothold.

Easy now. Just because I dont support the Man doesnt mean i hate America. We Americans need to start studying our political leaders. We need to
take the responsibility for electing morons. We must have ethical leaders!

This is almost impossible to do though. Unfortunately, America is a 2 party system and the 2 parties that are in place are the ones who set forth the
candidates we get to "choose" from. It will take a revolution or coupe to really get any significant change in the US.
