Hey all

im new to ATS but here goes
Number1 gas prices threw the roof and are not gona get better
Number2 the bill of rights is being riped away from under youre feet
Number3 we have more then enough food yet ppl starve
Number4 we have more then enough land yet ppl are homeless
I could go on and on...
So my question is when are ppl going to snap and why havent they already?

The Boston Tea Party was the result of people snapping ......... it did plenty good.

I think that's what OP is implying bt "snap".

That's not snapping. Snapping is going nuts and beheading a passenger on a bus. Shooting your boss at work. Running someone over with your car on purpose, etc. Losing all sense of rationality.

To me, there's never a good time for that.

maybe you missunderstood me

all the peacefull protests in the last 10 to 8 years have gotten alot of mass media attention yes...but what has that done?
nothing

at this point sadly I think we all need to rise up and make change happen.

Yeah and how else do you think we need to rise up and make a change? by snapping or making a protest for a change?

Maybe the word 'revolt' would be more suffice for the subject than 'snap'?

by the way ATS don't really condone one line posts and people who repeatedly post two or three times, one after the other because they want a reply to there own thread.

Granted, it needs to happen, the question is how? How does one/many go about correlating a successful revolt the size of a nation?

I think it's time too ........ but no idea what to do about it. I don't want to do harm nor damage in the process, yet "peaceful revolts" obviously gain nothing.

well said misfit
I have often thought about that same question...
perhpas if we look at other revolts in history that have got results nad to that modern day thinking and tech.

one thing is for sure it would have to be massive and quick.

If you mean that peaceful revolts have never gained anything I have to disagree, look at the German revolution for example. But unfortunately I have to agree that peaceful revolt or protest is getting more and more difficult and senseless. You make no impression shouting at a fenced off free-speech zone while the media is ignoring or ridiculing you.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."
- John F. Kennedy, 1962

I think a lot of the energy that traditionally would have been used towards protesting and revolting in the streets is channeled online, complaining and theorizing. It reaches a lot of people, but with little real life results yet. Hopefully some peaceful event will trigger the critical online avatars to send their real-life identities out on the streets to bring real change.
