So what do you guys think? Is this the future of inter planetary travel within our solar system?

so what do i think....

I think it's theatrics.
just to keep the public on the due course train of thought and perceived advancement of technology.
this would be the most "logical next step" in "publically disclosed technology"..
so it's there..
on one hand.. complete waste of money if you ask me.

...still burning "fire" to "push" a big hunk of 20th century bulk around..
hop in a reverse engineered saucer and bam you're there in no time.

on the other hand.. that's the "you can't fool meeeee" pessimist talking.
and all in all, I understand the necessity for it. to keep the show going.. etc..
can't really complain.

cool.

Guys, I'm sorry I got off topic. I have no excuse. I was distracted by...hey, I was distracted by a Mod!

If it can be done, constant boost has always seemed to me to be the best means of interplanetary travel. It's been said that this engine is relatively low thrust. Just how low? Are there any calcs available for what kind of acceleration could be achieved with a full scale version, in a full scale craft? What would it take to get to Mars in 6 months?
