Only if he/she has committed criminal acts.

That fat pig Clinton got it light from the media, and most of you left wing nuts.

Nothing like insulting all democrats.

I guess that is because he is a coward like most of the demorats.

I guess that's better then being a criminal huh?

Bush has had to deal with more in 8 years that any POTUS has in the last 15 years before 9-11.

It's not about what he has delt with it's about HOW he has delt with it.

Quit crying about Iraq. No one gives a crap anymore. it is old news.

It may be old news to you but US soldiers, OUR SOLDIERS, are still dying. So YOU might not give a crap but I and many other US citizens DO GIVE A CRAP, as we don't want to see our soldiers die needlessly. This of course is not to mention all the innocent civilians who have been killed as a result of bushs' war.

Stocks are going up, gas is going down,

Yes, gas went down 10 whole cents even though the price of oil has dropped over 25%. Where I live, the price of gas is $3.96 a gallon which is ABSURDLY HIGH. If mr. bush would reign in speculation and re-instate the windfall tax the he removed, the price of gas would drop to approx $2.00 per gallon. So the price of oil dropping has nothing to do with bush, it's because demand has dropped because the price of gas is so high.

Bush has written many executive orders that infringe on our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, has attempted to dismantle the Constitution in general, has instituted torture policies, removed due process, instituted extraordinary rendition, illegal wiretapping, etc...
Why would you think any of this is OK????
Do you hate the Constitution???

Also, don't forget that mr. bush also said with regards to the Constitution,
"It's just a godd@mn piece of paper".
Apparently not realizing that "piece of paper" is what our country is founded on and....the Constitution wasn't written on paper.

I suppose you and all other pro-bushers support all these things?????

Oh, don't be so bloody stupid! The US funded Al-Quada, gave money to North Korea, spends more money on the military than on universally accessible health care, doesn't give the poor any tax breaks, wrecked Iraq and its' history (which goes back some 6,000 years to Sumer - which gave us wheels, the sail boat, and base 60 - like the 60 minute hour etc.). Bush's Pax Americana has damaged US relations and has made an international mockery of the US. Bush stole the White House so he is the squatter in chief. He lied about September 11. You're no patriot.

Kerry has about 30 IQ points up on George. He would have balanced the budget.

GWB is a moron. My dog would have balanced the budget better.

American's would just rather vote for what they perceive as a rough tough individual, when in actuality they voted for a low intellegent, scared rich man's child that never grew up.

Well said.

I don't trust his dad any further than I could throw Maine.

And, sometimes I have wondered how much he had to dance to the puppet masters and how much he was earnestly trying to do good for God and Country as he saw it.

On the whole, I think he's a good hearted man trying to do good and stay alive long enough to at least slow evil down in it's march toward globalist hideousness.

I've not been happy with some of his pressures on Israel. But maybe what he was able to do in such situations was a lot better than he was ordered to do. I don't know.

In any case, he's tons and tons better than Shrillery, Obumma, Skerry and a list of others might have been. They would have been TRAITOROUSNESS INCORPORATED and brazenly, flagrantly so. Then we'd have been discussing what the meaning of "traitorousness" is . . . along with the meaning of "is."

Thanks for the thread. There's tons of chronic whining all over the net and plenty hereon. It's great to take stock and affirm what's worth affirming.

I don't know to be honest, I'm not even American, either the guy is way ahead of his time and handling things very well, or he is very greedy and following orders, i don't think most people at that age would do the latter, most people want to do good and leave this world eventually in the knowledge that they did what they thought was the right thing to do.

So in that sense, if that's true, thank you Mr. Bush for doing all you've done they must have been the hardest decisions in the world to make, if indeed you did make them. I guess the only way you'd know is if you personally knew the guy.

So Slainte, from Ireland, and please dont bomb us

Where do you live? It's not going down on the NYC metro area. It goes up weekly. We are at about $4+ for regular at the moment.

Me thinks there is a lot of trolling going on in this thread.

Let's not feed the trolls.

Uh huh. They haven't been in office but you already know that this dunce is better?

W only thinks about W and his interests and that of his cronies. He's out to help that small percentage of the population that owns the majority of the wealth.

People are whining because they are sick of the man. Even the people who voted for him started complaining right after the reelection. People in this country don't vote for the person who might be best in office, they vote against the person they don't like, even if that person is more qualified. I heard people say they were going to vote for Bush because he was better looking than Kerry!

So please don't hold any stock on the fact that this moron was re-elected as meaning he was best for the job.

I'd like to add to this list if I may.

Thank you Mr President for $4.35 gas.
Thank you Mr President for not helping illiterate children learn to read by spending trillions of dollars on your personal war rather than your "No child left behind" program

Thank you Mr President for showing your true colours and allowing the CIA and American troops to torture innocent people to coerce false statements out of them just like Pol Pot did to his people.

Thank you Mr President for taking away our civil rights and our freedom of speech

Thank you Mr President for speaking in public and giving me something to laugh at on a daily basis you absolute joke of a human being

Thank you Mr President for lying to the nation which you "love" to fool them into believing that Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9/11 when it was PROBABLY you all along

Thank you Mr President for openly stating that you would love America to be a dictatorship as long as you were the dictator

Thank you Mr President for giving a new meaning to "Patriotism" and blinding the American society

Thank you Mr President for changing the world we live in, It is true... One man can change the world but you did it for the worse.

Thank you Mr President for no doubt rigging the election so you could be elected not once but twice and showing the American people that their choice, vote or opinion doesn't mean jack squat.

And lastly Thank you Mr President GOD that this donkey can only serve a two term maximum and we're almost done with him. With hope we wont hear another peep out of him or his family ever again.

Actually, John Kerry and Bush had GPAs that were pretty close. Something like 77.3 and 77.4 with Kerry in the lead.

Well, that's OK. The US Government is still pouring money into that city[New Orleans]. I wonder how much the people of Iowa, etc, received after the flooding there this year? Does anyone even remember that?

I wonder how much of that money went to the right people?

Could you tell me which executive orders you are specifically talking about?

If mr. bush would reign in speculation and re-instate the windfall tax the he removed,

Don't Congress have power to reign in speculation?

When did Bush remove the windfall tax?

Also, don't forget that mr. bush also said with regards to the Constitution,

Can't find anywhere where Bush said this. I did find a one person told another person who told another person that Bush had said that but they don't name the sources.
Do you have a transcript or video where Bush said this?

I agree with you on caring about Iraq.

The Executive Order entitled "Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq" provides the President with the authority to confiscate the assets of whoever opposes the US led war.

A presidential Executive Order issued on July 17th, repeals with the stroke of a pen the right to dissent and to oppose the Pentagon's military agenda in Iraq.

The Executive Order entitled "Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq" provides the President with the authority to confiscate the assets of "certain persons" who oppose the US led war in Iraq:

"I have issued an Executive Order blocking property of persons determined to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq or undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people."

In substance, under this executive order, opposing the war becomes an illegal act.

In May 2007, Bush issued a major presidential National Security Directive (National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive NSPD 51/HSPD 20), which would suspend constitutional government and instate broad dictatorial powers under martial law in the case of a "Catastrophic Emergency" (e.g. Second 9/11 terrorist attack).

NSPD 51 grants unprecedented powers to the Presidency and the Department of Homeland Security, overriding the foundations of Constitutional government. It allows the sitting president to declare a “national emergency” without Congressional approval. The implementation of NSPD 51 would lead to the de facto closing down of the Legislature and the militarization of justice and law enforcement.

"The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government...."

Advocates for the release of government documents say the executive order violates the spirit of the 1978 Presidential Records Act and will usher in a new era of secrecy for papers left behind by America's chief executives.

The White House says the order simply sets up a procedure for implementing the act and gives former presidents more authority to claim executive privilege to withhold certain papers. Absent ``compelling'' circumstances, the incumbent president will agree with a former president's decision to disclose or withhold documents, the White House says.

Just a few examples. I can post more if you like.

I will admit that the way it is worded it does look like it might violate some of our rights. But I am also under the understanding that congress can revoke this Executive Order 13438 by passing a law to protect us from the rights that Bush allegedly took away from us. I am also under the understanding that executive orders can be challenged in the court to see if they violate the US Constitution. As a result I don't think the orders are as powerful as people assume them to be. Please correct me if I am wrong.

As far as NSPD 51, I feel it is just a contingency plan on how government will operate if the unexpected was to happen.

It allows the sitting president to declare a “national emergency” without Congressional approval.

In EXECUTIVE ORDER 13129 President Clinton declared a national emergency.

constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United
States, and hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat.

source

Chaos did not ensue despite President Clinton declaring a national emergency.

I share your view that the possibility of a president going astray and trying to take total control of government does exist. However I don't believe it to be Bush.

In my view, Bush hasn't been the best President, nor has he been the worst. Unfortunately, the President, no matter what party, gets blamed for everything. Add the fact that most Americans are divided by party lines only adds fuel to the fire as ATS members try to defend their party. Regardless of who is President, I must give them Thanks for trying their best in a complicated and ever changing environment.

Our three branches are built on checks and balances. I fault Congress for their lack of initiative to put the Presidents powers in check. Seems like Congress prefers to Bicker rather than correct the overreach of the executive branch. The courts are limited in their ability to check because a case must be presented before they can make a ruling on the Constitutionality of an issue.

I appreciate your response and respect what you say.

Sometimes I wonder if we are being manipulated by people who want to see the gloom and doom days come true. Seems like everything I read or hear points to those days of chaos that await us in the future. I prefer to believe that better days await us.
