As near as I can tell, if you attempted to access ATS during the outage and/or extremely slow periods, your U2U records were in danger of total
While the site certainly appeared to be "down" in a hard way, the database server was still running, and stacking up queries in the queue... it's
just that the queries were taking over 800 seconds to process. If you can imagine that on each page-load of the board, the code checks to see if you
have unread U2U's, and at that point a query involving your U2U's was added to the list and thereby endangering your data. I'm not certain this is
the case, but the only commonality among those who lost data appears to be a very-recent "last visited" time stamp.
Do you think someone or something outside of ATS is involved in all of this???
No. And I've had our contract IT staff confirm it.
