Georgia Reports Attacks Continue as Russia's Medvedev Orders Halt to Military Action

MOSCOW — Russia ordered a halt to military action in Georgia on Tuesday, after five days of air and land attacks sent Georgia's army into headlong retreat and left towns and military bases destroyed.

Georgian officials insisted that Russia has continued the bombings despite the pledge, but Russia denied that.

Is it news? Is it propaganda?

I long for the days when news reports could be taken at their word. So far the reports are of 'claims' and 'denials.'

Should the fighting be continuing, they can always blame the other side for the friction. Pointless since some kind of agreement seems to have been reached...
