Interesting.
I agree not all wars are stupid just all modern wars. With the exception of WWI and WWII their intentions were noble.
I was thinking about this earlier, why do we care if the leaders are cheating on their wives? Our founding fathers most likely have girls on the side
and they were amazing leaders the glory days of the nation were back then.
We focus too much on who our politicians are doing instead of what they are doing, so my answer stays the same.

From the perspective of the middleeast 'oil war'/biblical prophecy; the harlot that sits on the beast would seem to be related to both of these.
The temple or church steeple is an oil rig? The 'fornication' is these drilling holes into the earth and the effects on the planets climate?
The mark of the beast (or oil) may also represent the greed and waring excuses of those invloved. Many may refer to this as making war and raping the
earth for it's resources. The beast may then also represent causality or god or natures wrath.
