I believe in basic psychological princables. However I've noted too many people take psychology too seriously. I see them quoting and misquoting psychological babble here there and everywhere all the time.

Firstly, I've been to college. I learned what every good college student learns. You should stick to the major that suits you best. Most psychology majors study psychology because the believe there's something wrong with their own heads. They also want to believe there is something wrong with your head.

In the past, quacks like these, only about 200 years ago, would drill holes in people's heads to "let the demons out". And people would gather around saying that this process should be done, not unlike those that drivel on about their lackluster understandings of psychological understandings. Asked today or asked 200 hundred years ago the answer would be the same. The doctors would bloat their egos thinking they have understanding and the fools would follow along.

The closest thing to true psychology is behaviorisim.

Psychology isn't a science. Sciences require observations. When someone looks at another person's abilities to percieve things those observations are biased and at best a guess. Psychology isn't a science.

Psychology is a very old conspiracy.

All perceived knowledge is a joke we play on ourselves for amusement.

Haha! It's really funny sometimes to see such boobery! I look back upon some of my past misery and laugh wholeheartedly. How could I do that, be it not a joke? I am sure that, once I die.... all of my combined misery will be absolutely ridiculously hilarious.

"Oh my Me, I was sad? WHY?!?! AHAHAHAHA!!! The irony of IT ALL!"

Well, seeing as how psychology is the study of the mind I would say it counts as a science. I also don't see how it is a conspiracy. I will agree that there are some quacks who use their degrees in psychology, and some who don't have degrees, to take people's money with the latest treatment fad. (Dog whisperers anyone?) However, there are a lot out there that actually are in it to help people and/or to study the psychological process of people in general. I don't see it as being that much different from biology. They are both science, and are both the study of things.

Um, I think psychology is about observations.

However, in many cases, those observations are subjective, tailored to the individual, and don't have statistical backing that can be used to say: "this may apply to many people".

So, it is a science, when it formulates objectively determinable hypotheses, that can be invalidated with counter-evidence, and may have application at multiple levels of specificity. That is, describing phenomena not specific to a unique individual circumstance.

I guess it depends on how it's practiced. There are a lot of quacks out there. That's for sure.

I think most psychologists (more so than psychiatrists) don't really care to be entirely objectively analytical; they mostly just want to mentor people, or have a cushy job where they can chat.

If I climb a tree and I pick an apple, while you and five others are below, and then I drop the apple from the tree branch, all of you, (assuming you all have sight), will see that apple fall. It's observable by all.

If I am sitting in a chair, and the five of you are watching me, and I start to eat my own poop, you'll all see me eat poop but none of you will see the thought processes that are behind that illogical action.

Psychologists don't agree. Psychology is a scam. Psychology is a baised matter of personalize opoion based within the understandings created within each observer of the action.

If 5 see the apple fall 5 can know gravity exists.
If 5 see poop being eaten there will be 5 seperate reasonings of why that action happened.

Psychology isn't a science.

No One can Observe another's thought processes.

I'm really close with this beautiful woman. She really believes that her perceptions on things are so wonderful people love to listen to her talk. I told her the other day if she was 350 pounds and ugly with the same perceptions on matters she'd have to pay to be listened to.

If a woman psychologist brings a fur hat in a room a mentally ill person might rub it on their genitals where if a man brought it in the room that person might start crying.

It's not even the same phenomenon.

You can not deeply observe to understand what's going on in another persons head.

The above statement is a BASIC psychological princeable. So how does higher psychology ignore basic psychology, it's a skam. It's a CONspiracy.

Psychology

psy·chol·o·gy (s-kl-j)
n. pl. psy·chol·o·gies
1. The science that deals with mental processes and behavior.
2. The emotional and behavioral characteristics of an individual, group, or activity: the psychology of war.
3. Subtle tactical action or argument used to manipulate or influence another: He used poor psychology on his employer when trying to make the point.
4. Philosophy The branch of metaphysics that studies the soul, the mind, and the relationship of life and mind to the functions of the body.

Fact is, psychology in general is a science. There are behaviors that have been classified, by psychologists, as normal or abnormal based on objective observations. You eating poop could be one of a few things, but based on objective observations I'm sure you will get a consensus in short order on what exactly is causing you to eat it.

If I constantly do things a certain number of times, I may have OCD or OCPD which are a chronic anxiety disorder and a personality disorder respectively. Both are diagnosable using psychology. You don't have to like it, but it is a science.

EDIT: I do agree that psychologists are not always correct in their assessments. But that does not invalidate it as a science. Doctors are wrong all the time, but not many people have a problem relying on them for medical care.

I like psychoanalysis. Though if I was interested in it as a method of treatment, I'd be a holistic.

I see you have a "Support Anonymous" tile, but you've failed to realize the faces behind the "anonymous" movement is the scientologists! The scientologist are using psychology to gain attention through a mock attack. So are you suporting Anonymous or the Scientologists?

At any rate, I see some people have dragged out "clinical definitions" of the crap bag that is psychology as if because it is written in definition form it makes it true. Such properganda would have been the call of the day 200 years ago when they were drilling holes in people's heads to "let the demons out". They'd be arguing the same bull.

LOl you're really far out there arne't you...

I have failed to realise ?

I saw the birth of the Anonymous movement, and am still quite active in it, and i can assure you, there's not a scientologist in our ranks, EX scientologist yes, peolpe who have seen the light and by the help of Anonymous have recieved the help and courage to step out of that Evil cult.

May i ask ? Where do you get your information on who or what anonymous does from anyway ? Cause it's beyond wrong, it's ridiculous.

Man, dare i say it, you need counseling... you're clearly delusional. (about Anonymous and pshychology....)

I don't understand your point. Are you calling psychology psycho babble with suporting evidence that Freud was a junky, or are you conserned that I stated it isn't a real science?

Although I enjoy many "psychological" understandings, basic psychology, I stress the point that it isn't a true science. It isn't a true science because it's not observations of natural phenomenons that are uniformed throughout the obeservalble grouping. It's heavily based in personalize assumptions of understanding from a group of people that joined the psychological field due to the fact that they felt there was something wrong with themselves and those around them.

for the greater part "psychological observations" are compleat bull that boil down to biased assumptions of anothers ability to percieve as they feel a imaginare norm of "group" does.

but the real reason I'm taking such a stance is that sometimes I'm a dog trying to get a bone.

If you were so learned like you portend. You would know how to spell concerned. Of course, like always, with all due respect. 'I am right!' If you differ with me you are a confused fool. Just beautiful. Beautiful. I think some psychotherapy may be beneficial to you.

I'm sure you do. Just another failed observation by a psycholigical suporter? Actually my spelling issues are from dsylexicia, being passed over and unreconized in public schooling, and spilt understanding that it isn't worth spell checking my expressions because those that want to understand will do so anyway.

Well thank you! May I wish the same upon you.

no one can make anything of me. That's because it's right there in the open yet it is unbelieveable and not understandable. I could tell you, but you wouldn't believe me. So then I'm just a man, communication is good, and sometimes we can have fun, I like to get some points on my total ATS points as this seems to be the name of the game we play.

Interesting essay. So by saying "I've been to college" do you mean you drove up to the main gates or do you mean you graduated from a college?

What brings you to the conclusion that people 'believe into psychology'? Have you been at odds with a behavioral specialist or did this observation just come to you.

Thanks for the post and have a nice day!
