I am sure Bush got just as many death threats and those making them were probably more vocal than these two. The only reason the threats on Osama are being reported is to gin up racist propaganda.

I could care less. I am sure there are liberal whack jobs being investigated right now for threats on McCains life but we don't see those do we?

Who cares... That is what the SS is for. If they can't protect these jokers is there really anything we can do about it? I know I wouldn't lose any sleep over it because there is nothing I can do about it but go to work and pay taxes so the next idiot liar can step in and run things into the ground... These reports are all a sham and I doubt the perps do any time to speak of. Its a joke...

He certainly is uniting the people that are against him.
Oh the irony.

Bush didn't really bother us folks up north because we didn't get involved in the Iraq "INVASION". We are our own country. However, if I were American then I would vote for Obama. How could he be any worse than the clown you got now? Or would you rather it keep going downward?

I don't know if you realize this, but the clown we have running things now isn't running again, so why would that affect an Obama vote? I'm not up for higher taxes and gun control. If you want to see how he could screw things up worse than they are now just look into a former Pres named Jimmy Carter.

Anyone that is sick enough to consider assissination (or murder of any kind) should be locked away. Death threats to public officials have been around a long time and, sadly, they aren't something that will ever go away in the political arena.

I found it admirable that during the primaries McCain held off as long as he could on having the secret service protect him. His reasoning for going without security was twofold - he didn't want a physical or emotional buffer between the American public and himself and he didn't want to burden the taxpayers with the cost until absolutly necessary.

I am curious to know how much we, as American taxpayers, are having to pay to cover the cost of security for Obama vs. what we are paying for security on McCain. I'm sure Obama's security is AT LEAST double what McCains is and should Obama win, security is something we will be footing the bill for for the rest of his life.

I think there should be a set amount that is paid for security for politicians. If additional security is necessary, that should be paid for by the person that is being protected. Think of the millions that Bill Clinton has made since he was President. He could certainly afford to cover at least some of the cost of his security!

Because Dronetek - everything with Obama has to do with race - GAAAWD- didn't you know that? I agree with you 100% - you can't even tell anyone your not voting for him without the "why because he's black ?" question.

You'll note his supporters only mention hes mixed when it suits them. Any other time hes black again, because it suits them. All the while not realizing that THEY are the racists and the rest of could care less what his skin color is.

Well Drone...
It's because intelligent people like you who quote people like Rush Limbaugh and think he's a smart guy.

Remember this one: "take the bone out of your nose and call me back"....

Or what about: "have you ever noticed how all the composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"

So, when you support racists.....and think they are "bright".....you and the rest of your little "party" are going to be assumed to be one as well.

Did you read the entire article? From what I can tell, the only proof anyone has that this man harbors any serious intention of harming Obama is that people "overheard" him threatening to kill the senator. How many thousands of people have muttered, "I'd love to kill (insert political figure here)" in some form or another?

Did the man even have weapons or some sort of itinerary?

For all we know, he didn't even make the statements.

You ought to take these kinds of stories with a grain of salt. I wouldn't be surprised if Obama's camp floats this stuff out there in order to gain sympathy for their incredibly flawed candidate.

In a stable republic like the United States, you're right and assassinations are unnecessary. However, tyrants and corrupt government officials often do deserve to be killed. If you sat down and thought about it, you could probably think of plenty of world leaders currently in power whose deaths would make their constituents a lot better off.

Any person or group serious about carrying out an assassination of a high profile public figure would not be vocal about their intentions. Any real attempts being plotted would be kept quiet until the plan was "executed". I am quite confident in the ability of the U.S. Secret Service to protect these individuals and their families from any ordinary attack.

Looks like a second man has threatened to kill Obama, this time a North Carolina man. The first guy was from Florida.

This just goes to what I said before - I feel that Obama's security team is going to need to be on the ball constantly and on the watch from whacko's like these, especially radical nutjobs from popular hate groups.

You mean unlike the numerous white presidents before him who have been targets. So with 300 million people, 2 threats, and zero attempts he's a gonner for sure - Chicken Little rides again.

The Europeans are currently trying to comfort themselves by believing that although the US appears to be on the verge of electing a black president, they can take comfort from the fact that there will soon be an assasination attempt. Don't fall into the same socialist trap.

For the record NOT ONCE in my entire life(im middle age now) have i ever even thought of killing someone or projecting hate onto them.Ive also never been arrested or been in trouble with the law.So the arguement of just kidding really doesnt wash with me.

I'm sorry, but I have a really hard time believing you. I don't think there's a person on the planet who's lived long enough to reach adulthood without ever wishing for serious harm to fall upon their enemies.

I read both articles the first threat came with plans and an arsenal of weapons the second only hysteria. I have to admit no matter who is elected we're gonna have to kill 'em sooner or later for the lies they told to get elected. It's just the way we are, spending millions on election hoopla, billions on senate investigating committees to affirm our belief they need to die. Look at Bush who believes he didn't orchestrate 9-11, so why blame some one for getting off first.

WARNING TO ANYONE CONSIDERING HARMING OBAMA!!!!!

I do not like the man, nor do I want to see him get elected, but...

STOP!. You will cause far more destruction than you can possibly imagine.
You WILL cause the following:

1) ALL Legally registered firearms will be rendered Illegal and confiscated,
possibly by force.

2) You will start a civil war

3) You will enable our enemies to strengthen and explode while we are busy fighting ourselves.

4) You will probably instigate the end of freedom throughout the free world.

5) You will probably wind up beheaded as you forgot there are people bigger than you and groups far more powerfull than yours.

Anarchists, Caos theorists, Natzi-ism, Black Nationalist, Anti-zionist's, Nation of Islam, and any other anti-everybody group out there take note:
You will ensure your own destruction.
If the US Government doesn't get you first, the civilian population of this great country will unleash the worst wrath imaginable. America is like that big guy at school or work you always picked on, punched, kicked, and he never fought back, untill the day someone pulled out a knife or attacked in a group. That day you realized why he chose not to fight all these years....... He was a third degree blackbelt, or a former special forces officer, and you watched him stop short of killing all attackers, simply because our laws said he couldn't. Like him, Americans are respectfull of the capabilities of our collective temper and we take alot before we consider unleashing it.

The President of the United States is not a King, Dictator, Emperor, Living-God, or Religious Pontiff. He or She is simply a person in an office who can be dealt with far more effectively within the law as congress must approve almost everything. Any silly notion of attempting physical action
would be the stupidest thing you could ever do. Of course some of you think it might be fun to have a free-for all anarchist state. Read your history, Anarchist or feudal state = your eventual voilent death or enslavement. It is niether cool or fun. Disarming the population because of your action would be even dumber. You will find yourself obeying Sharia law as a slave to your new, far more dangerous masters.
Any one caught attempting such actions should be executed by firing squad as a traitor if proved guilty of preparing to assasinate ANY Government or Nominated official within US Soil.

With all the news that stuff like this is garnering, I'm wondering if we are being set up for a false flag operation.

Imagine this: He wins the presidency. Then, some "racist" people (you just KNOW that's how it would be portrayed) are blamed for the crime, which takes out the president-elect AND vice-president elect, then GW gets to "hold off" on the elections, because we need to have "democratically elected" people in office. Not likely, but a false flag operation following that scheme wouldn't surprise me at all.

What's different in America today vs. 8 years ago? I'm not talking about the higher stock market or the lower unemployment rate of today, even at these times of pressing economic woes. I'm not talking about the lower taxes thanks to the Bush tax cuts. I'm not talking about the more secure borders, more secure airlines or the increased national security.

WOW Choco. I can't believe you got STARS for this.
ITS LIKE THE TRUTH DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE.
I don't want to get off topic on the thread, but just for example take the first claim about Unemployment...you CLAIM without a source unemployment is lower under bush vs 8 years ago? HERE I tried to find the most objective data, the Bureau Of Labor Statistics.

What was the unemployment rate when GW took Office? Now? Any month in between 2000 and 2008 better than what Bill Clinton left him in 2000?

You do know that higher is not better with unemployment right?

Go to this page and ENTER 1992 and 2008 as a range to compare Clinton and Bush Administration Un employment numbers. ALSO CHOOSE GRAPH and then CLICK GO.

data.bls.gov...

See if you can figure out the begining of the GW years by the chart without looking at the dates

As for the rest...My time isn't worth the debunking crazy claims.
Try providing sources while posting.
